West Ham Till I Die : Result: Player Performances v Bristol City

I’m amazed yet again... How fickle are you guys? One minute Noble is shocking, next he is Premiership standard. One minute Nolan is the best singing ever next he's a has been. This is in the space of a few weeks. This is going to be a HARD season and I said it at the start, we are going to have ups and downs. It all depends on how you take the good times and the bad. You guys have got to realise that we will get spells like this, where we aren’t playing very well. Then next week we will look fantastic, Its the nature of the Championship and the long season. At the moment we are second, didn’t play too well and Sam didn't have the right tactics THIS WEEK. But why is there so much doom mongering? I have to admit I wasn’t an optimist last season due to that fact Avram was in charge and I couldn’t see how things were going to change while he was still in charge. But this season I have faith that Big Sam has some Idea what he is doing. I had faith Noble was going to turn good for us a couple months ago when he was writ off and I also have the faith that Nolan is a great player for us and will be huge in our promotion. I too have to admit that that tactic of lobbing it up there for Carew is tedious and frustrating to watch, but maybe it’s part of a plan to sure up the defence with the extra man in midfield at first and once they are comfortable with the system. Baldock will play more, with two up front. Which I personally think is the best way to play in the Championship. Stop being so quick to write the Players, the Manager etc off all the time... We played crap this week. But I guarantee we will look great for weeks at a time and then have a bad spell, look at Newcastle last season. I remember at times they were third, fourth and then ran away with it, thats how I see us(not as low as fourth hopefully). Sothamption are on a high and when Lambert gets sold to Newcastle in Jan they wont be a threat. Sorry about the long post, I didnt even want to write this much! Thats my two cents anyway.

West Ham Till I Die : An Excellent Transfer Window, as the Club Does the Business!

Agree with you on Noble, Collison and Tomkins. Landsbury looked like a prospect too. I would have thought he might be used as Nolans younger brother, occupying the same sort of role. One thing that the team seems to have is togetherness. I was watching Daily talking about what happend in the season we went down with Kanoute, Defoe, Paolo, Carrick etc. and he talked about they were all Individuals(I also blame Dailys shocking defending and calamity James for that season). I think after Zola left thats what happend to us, grant offered no Leadership and they were playing for their Paycheck with no pride. Now Sam has turned that attitude around. I also thinl Reid has come on leaps and bounds. Not just because I seen him score a goal but even when Faye came on it seemed like he wasnt needed because Reid had it covered at the back. Its good to feel optimistic again!

It annoyed me that people were Ignorant to his previous success and dismissed it as just long ball and he used bully boy tactics. Managing to keep Bolton in the Premier league that long and get them into europe should have been the forst thing people thought about when Big Sams name came up as a candidate in January. As for Celtic as I said I liked seeing different opinions even when I didnt agree with the mojority of them. When the same point came up quite a few times I tended to skip past it.

I think he has only gone bacwards because of being in the shadow of Parker and having Grant as his manager. I think if we are to see how good he really is, this will be the season will find out. I have faith in him.

For me it would be Noble in there for sure. Its obvious he has learnt a lot off Parker from the last few seasons. Watch the way he turns on the ball now and you will know what I mean. Taylor has been great this season for us too. Managed to get me in the top 100 of the Texaco fantasy football because of his two assists last week = )

This kind of football and attitude was what I wanted in Jan last year when we had the chance to get the perfect manager in (Big Sam) to sort the club out and build some solid foundations. However I could not believe many said they didnt want him because we shouldnt play "long ball" football. So we continued with an inept manager because we felt sorry for him. Instaed of going out there and getting Sam in! So now we are 8 months later and people now love him... In this season we are in the Champ we are getting further and further away from ever getting to the top of the Premier League ever again. The top clubs have now strengthend even more and the devide has now got even further. The likes of Stoke are now seen as a more established club than us! The likes of Dyer, Kovac, Gabbidon ect. wouldnt have got new contracts so they would have left. When we go back up next season we will have lost out on some quality players that might have come and wont have the same spending power as those that have been up there for a season. We have now organized the club better but havnt moved forward as a club, only stepped back. Religation wasnt the best thing for the club!

I dont understand this site at times. Last season I distinctly remember a huge majority of people on this site not wanting Sam in. Now it seems nobody ever recalls saying that and they always wanted him? When it was Suggested last Jan many people said "your not a true supporter of this club if you want that kind of football here" But now It seems they have seen the light and like seeing us win football matches for a change. Why are people saying it was better for us to go down? It WASN'T We lost a lot of money and some good players (Ba). This league is going to be extreamly tough to get out of. "We will only lose 2 games" get a grip lads. Why wont people get their feet on the ground! I think were in a good position with the transfers we got in but im under no illusions about how hard this is going to be. We could be beaten by many of these teams in the Champ on their day. As for CelticHammer, THIS IS A DEBATING FORUM and i enjoyed seeing a different point of view. if you dont like other peoples opinions dont bother reading them. As you might do for mine in a minute lol. Also Great Post SJ COYI!

I see soo much potential in Carlton. Team him up with a Poacher and we will have a great partnership. The last few seasons have been terrible for him, no confidance no goals is the problem. Id like to see Sears and Carlton Partner each other and see how they get on.

I was a little dissapointed with Sears last week. I thought he would do well, with his promising pre season before hand. I think he might be better suited to playing upfront with one of the big lads to feed off. He shows he can finish (Kobenhavn game) Id like to give him a chance to see what he can do. I dont think the one upfront format is working, we seemed to just get congested in the middle at times. Also anybody notice how similiar Noble and Parker are now. They even have the same swivel when they're on the ball. Id let Parker go. His talent is a little wasted in the championship and id like to see him play in the Champions League for his sake. Such a great lad and deserves International recognition for the great player he is.

West Ham Till I Die : What is Needed in the Summer Transfer Window?

Happy about the signitures of Nolan and Taylor but Im a little dissapointed that we have missed out on a few players that we could have got. -Paintsil - The Infamous Right Back who will be decent in the Champ with Leicester -Konchesky - Same story as Paintsy (Leicester Player Now) -DJ Campbel - Cheap striker who will get goals, but reports suggesting hes off to QPR... - Matt Mills - Assured CB who I think would have done well with us. Another Player that Leicester have nabbed. However I still think we have a decent squad and our youngsters are promising prospects, that will play a big role in the forthcoming season. Interesting times for the Hammers!

Although Im a little disappointed we missed out on a few good players, like Knochesky and Matt Mills who i think would have done well for us in the Champ.
West Ham Till I Die : Da Costa Exits, as the Question is Posed: Should We Target Shane Long?

Shane Long. That little Reading fella? Not for me! Hes another Michael Chopra. Good in Champ, thats about it. Craig Machael Smith looks good. He played in League 1 because he showed loyalty to the club, not because he wasnt good enough to be in a higher div. He had plenty of oppertunities to move if he wanted. We should have gone for Danny Graham and Kieran Westwood too though.
