Definitely, when I read that line in the article, I thought wtf, did the writer even read the books or just other articles and reviews. I mean there are some prophecies but they are mainly a subplot, and if I remember there is only one exiled princess. The talking crow is in a dream and it is the median for one person (uber first men green seer) to communicate with Bran and what magical trees, they didn't talk or walk, just looked creepy and ancient.
If I read the article I would think, sounds like high fantasy to me, he should have written, "It's a world unlike any you have imagined, where princesses are not damsels, knights are cold and brutal, where crows guard a wall of ice from an evil long forgotten and magic is just a memory carved into trees."

From those Castle Black pics looks to me like several weeks or more till the set is complete. I think they are filming the summer time scenes first from Kings Landing, Kingswood, Castle Darry and Eastern Continent scenes in August, then the Northern Kingdom scenes from the 3 episode block toward the end (September) when it will be colder which would include Castle Black, Winterfell and any Kingsroad scenes taking place in the north. It wouldn't really matter for the next episode blocks as it will be getting colder by then, but since most of the scenes set in the south in the later episodes concern The Red Keep, Fleabottom, The Sept, Dungeons, and The Eyrie so they will be interiors or sets with the exception of the Dothraki Sea, the journey to the Vale and the battles. Filming the northern scenes in the fall and winter are ideal anyway and I can see them doing the first episode reshoots in Oct/Nov. since thats when the pilot was filmed last year.

If thats the case, he might be giving us a clue concerning the chapter he is currently on, perhaps one where it is snowing or referencing a Jon Snow POV.

Getting close now, the excitement builds, wish I was there.
Reading these posts, I get the feeling the cast is in place for the first few episodes, which means Myrcella, Tommen, Rickon, Jeyne, Beth, Ser Ilyn must have been cast by now, so where's the announcement.
Update: Just read GRRM's not-a-blog post, he mentions more casting announcements to come, but he is on a role with Dances and doesn't want to stop. I say don't stop George keep a rolling, let someone else post the casting news. He also mentions it is snowing in Santa Fe, wish he would send some of that cold and moisture my way, it hasn't rained here for almost 3 weeks now and the heat is almost unbearable, even for Florida.

Hopefully the composer will create a Celtic theme for the opening credits. If the title sequence is indeed a raven flying over a map of Westeros, I can imagine something akin to the Old Ways by Loreena McKinnett, especially the start of the main melody at the 8 second mark in the youtube video. I can close my eyes and see the raven soaring over the landscapes and castles as the melody begins. I also love the song as a whole and can see it playing during the closing credits.

Definitely, I cannot see Theon recommending they kill this Osha, I can see him though requesting the honor of interrogating her.

I don't see the series delving deeply into the family genealogy that much (with the exception of Ned's investigation), and by the way I am a R/L supporter, but for those N/A people, those Dornish from the Reach can be Mediterranean. I am not recommending the change from a race perspective, but to make the series a little different, add a freshness to it for fans. I believe it would also give a visual perspective to viewers concerning the tension between Sunspear and Highgarden and because so many of the cast and extras will have tanned skin (common today) and dark hair, it will help the casual viewer immediately establish what Kingdom the individual that is onscreen represents. This is why I like the idea of having the Ironborne have lighter colored hair (Theon in the pilot pic was blond).

Love just about all the choices and I trust the decisions, I know Kate and Jerome don't look very close to the discriptions in the books, but makeup and acting can fix that.
Waiting on Tywin, Shae, Myrcella, Tommen, Rickon, Shagga, Chella, Timmet, The Blackfish

Also since I see no hint of African descent actors, I am guessing HBO will alter the Dornish to those of African descent instead of Mediterranean (which I can see happening and it would in no way take away from the story whatsoever).
