And let's face it, if Global Warming were real, Russia, among other countries like it would benefit. I always thought it shear lunacy for countries like Canada to be on the AGW bandwagon, you idiots! If warming continues your usable land increases! Unlock all that frozen land in the north.

What I can't stand is the alarmists saying the if the Earth warms a few degrees we are all doomed. What from increased growing seasons, more farmable land, reduction of disease, milder winters?

I have to laugh when the AGW types bring up effects of a warming planet, more aggressive harmful plants like poison ivy, increased death rates during hot summers, etc. Of course right along with poison ivy other such plants like wheat, barley, oats, etc. will grow like gangbusters! As for weather related deaths the winter kills far more so a little warming will actually save lives.

"Using second-degree polynomials to "model" multiple partial differentials with unknown boundary conditions? Puh-leez"

I love that sentence, I will print that out and hang it on my wall.

Just as an FYI I have downloaded the federalist papers onto my new BN Nook, as you can also do with the Kindle or the Sony reader. A wealth of excellent info is available for FREE.

Well written piece. Ditto on my feelings on TCM, I simply love to watch Robert Osborne in his presentation and special insights into the movies being shown. As I read your article I kept thinking: "But have you seen Alec Baldwin?" Yes he is a leftist tool but I'll be darned if he isn't very good working with Robert Osborne. When you finished with your comments on Mr. Baldwin I really connected with you. He offers a fresh perspective and the "inside baseball" comments I just love about the movies. His commentary is obviously based on a love for the art and a depth of knowledge and experience few have.

Wow I just typed all that saying nice things about Alec Baldwin, what is the world coming to?

"There’s nothing wrong with building monuments and bridges and having goals and ambition, but what does any of that matter if you can’t fill a living room with family and loved ones?"

Truer words were never spoken Mr. Nolte.

Well I almost posted a quick reply but decided to research my answer. I had heard a story years ago and had been repeating it as fact and I was. . .wrong. You are right the film won no oscars, although was nominated for a slew, to include best picture.

I did run accross an interesting story on how the copyright expired thus leading to the annual tradition of watching it on television.

I was thinking the same thing George. I agree with your pick for number one. One of my favorite movie trivia questions, the movie in question won one oscar, can you say what it one the oscar for?

No it was a proper and fitting comparison. Notice he didn't say "Marxism" is just as evil as Nazism, he said "Stalinist Russia". That was accurate and if you are keeping score at home, Staline perhaps killed more folks than Hitler.

I love Queen and I think the main difference is they were about making good music, Freddie wasn't ramming his sexuality down our throat, or shoving his beliefs where the sun don't shine!

I mean really I have a hard time swallowing the load. . .of crap the gay lobby dishes out.

Okay I will stop now.

Same here, was an accident, got hooked, was fascinated (shocked?) at some of the parallels that seem to be developing today. . .
