ACORN may be out of business, but do you honestly think the people in that political group are out of work? Please, get the blinders off, they'll be up to their old tricks come election time. I'm also not Republican so please don't generalize, like you're accusing me of doing.
Why, yes, Chet, I have done so. I was also aware enough to call ahead to find out exactly what they needed in order to get my photo ID so I wouldn't have to make more than one trip. I was able to basically walk in and out in short amount of time (the lines weren't that long that day). I didn't have a birth certificate either, just a certificate of live birth, a photocopy to boot with a notary seal on it. I'm also on a tight budget, like everyone else and didn't feel disenfranchised by having to pay for the ID.
You're right, it won't fly. The Democrats won't let it happen since it would cause more work for their friends in ACORN, like you suggest.
I sure hope they approve this. Teachers aren't paid enough as is.
I gotta say, while I don't normally agree with Nixon, this was the right thing to do. Most of the rural schools were facing massive cuts, now they won't be. There are still cuts, but not as drastic.
I answered the census, and it's a real shame that it's main focus was on race. Who cares what race you are, focus on the number of people in the home and their ages. Race should have nothing to do with whether or not your area gets money or other benefits.

My wife and I happen to use this program and we also read to our small children every night at bed time. If you would actually research what this program does, you might learn that they don't come in and teach your kids. They give you ideas about how to teach your own kids and help them develop skills for school. It's a wonderful program and that's saying something coming from me since I don't believe in a lot of other government programs.
So once the election season starts in ernest, not only can both these nitwits trash their political opponents, but they can hurl accusations from their divorce trial in a way to smear each other. I sure hope there's a third party candidate in this election running against them. That person could just sit back and watch these two demolish each other and not have to say a thing.
