I don't know if BMI is the best way to measure weight standards. Alot of bodybuilders might object, but I'm sure there will be waivers. There is always a "fudge" factor and it looks like the Coast Guard is at least doing that. When I was into bodybuilding and not Crossfit, my BMI said I was overweight when I really just packed on muscle. A good link for calculating BMI as well as caloric needs, while not exact, is : http://www.dietitian.com/calcbody.php. It also explains the errant report the BMI can give.
