Survival Cache : Book Review: How to Survive The End of the World as We Know It

That happened to me when my dad was gonna take me bird hunting for the first time. He let me shoot his 16 and I wasn't holding it properly and the recoil about knocked my shoulder out. My son has been shooting the 22 regularly, not a shotgun but he is getting confident and I will continue to teach him proper shooting form. Thanks again for the comments.

Thanks, was really going back and forth on the 20, but you have swayed me to keep it as is. My son is getting old enough to start shooting and I think the 20 will be perfect for him. He is itching to fire the .410.

Thank you sir for your input. I have a .410, 20, 12, and 16, what I was wondering was in a survival situation what do most folks prefer? standard or tactical. I am looking to add another to my collection and am leaning towards a short barrel as I don't have one yet. It would be for home defense. I agree with you on the double barrel, my 20 is a double that was passed down from my grandfather. I have thought about making it my short, what are your thoughts on that? I really enjoy this site and could be on her for days asking questions.

Since there is no open forum for questions, I guess I'll ask here. Not on subject, and I know there is an article on this, but I never know if I'll get a response on older articles. What does one consider as a good shotgun and do you prefer short or long barrel? tactical or standard?

Survival Cache : Water Purification and Survival: Part 2

Would it be possible to have a list of some of the better filters and purifiers. I know there is a difference in the two and would it be optimal to have both. I would like to know some of the better ones for both categories, also ones that are good but won't break the bank.

Survival Cache : Survival Reloading

I second this thought. I am interested in reloading, I want to reload rifle rounds for my .303. these rounds are hard to find and expensive. Reloading seems like a good way to stock up and be cost effective. Thanks

Survival Cache : Book Review: “One Second After”

A little off subject, but I have just found this site and have been mulling over getting prepared for a while now. I have started gathering some gear and such, but I have really been intrigued by the fire starting material and way to start a fire. I posted a question under one of those articles, but I don't think anyone is posting on them anymore. My question, cottonballs and vaseline, do you just coat the outside? Great site and I am learning a lot.

Survival Cache : 5 Ideas for Fire Tinder

New to the site and to prepping. I have a question on the cottonball and vaseline. Do you just coat the outside of the cottonball? or do you pull in apart to coat entirely? Love the site.
