You did see it right? What did you think of the movie?

"Capturing peoples' hearts.....you mean like those idiots that want to kill themselves because Pandora doesn't exist??"

I would say it's a pretty powerful movie if it moves people that much. Thanks for destroying your own argument for me.

Psst! It's going to win.

"How is it all the reviews of Avatar I have read said besides the special effects the actual movie sucked yet it is cleaning house during the awards season?"

Because you are reading all those reviews from places like this which have no base in reality. They are just propaganda pieces meant to keep you from attending the movie.

Avatar is cleaning house for a reason. It's because it actually is a good movie, and it's capturing people's hearts. Try actually watching it instead of reading the spin about it and you might just see what I mean.

Since finding this site several weeks ago I have been amazed at the level of ignorance for most of these people. I sit in amazement after having actually seen the movie and then reading and watching all the drek and lies and spin meant to asswage the heard from attending and deciding for themselves.

There are so many people now who will not go and see this very neat film that's capturing people's hearts because of their political beliefs. To me, that's just unacceptable ignorance. To dismiss the allegories as anti-american is a propoganda move. Even if they do for some reason see the movie they will only be seeing the spin now.

The way this movie has been attacked from the right is just pathetic. You see, I used to be right wing. I know what these people are thinking. And I know where they are coming from. It's just they are so very wrong. And for someone who has not even seen the movie to bash it because they read about it on some re re webpage is a travesty.

But I am so thankful so many people are responding rationally and positively to this movie. In just six weeks it attained #1 in the world when it took Titanic 22 weeks. Just like Titanic, Avatar captured peoples hearts.

The right can try to spin spin spin all they want, but ultimately their efforts on pages such as this have failed. No rational thinking person actually takes any of this negative stuff seriously. In the "arena of ideas" Avatar ultimately wins. And thank God for that.

Hmm.... The allegory of corporate greed fully realized is a leftist idea? The allegory of troops being used for nefarious means is leftist?

The only truth to your statement is the Islamist propaganda. You see, they use the deaths of their kindred accidentally slain in this war as propaganda. To recruit more people to fight the western invasion of their land. What's even more sick and twisted is they are usually the ones doing the killing and for the most part, not our troops. But our troops aren't helping the situation at all. It's just one big clusterfu*%k over there and dunderheads like you buy it hook line and sinker.

So when a movie comes around that presents allegories to these sorts of things, you obviously hate the guilt that comes up from you supporting them. So of course it's leftist and labeled as trash. Par for the course.

"If you don't find the concept of Unobtainium preposterous and down right silly, I don't know if you get humor."

Unobtainium is sort of a running joke in sci-fi films. They even had it in the movie "The Core." It's basically like the wilhelm scream.

"Except for his name is Mark Steyn. "

Ah yes. That guy is completely off his rocker. I couldn't help but read Individualists rant in his voice.

"Thanks for playing"
Oh, and thank you! I enjoy it greatly.

"Believe it or not, people have their own ORIGINAL thoughts around here."

I disagree.

Driefromseattle says, "Well, I'm not going to see it because I've seen it before. I saw it when I saw "Dances With Wolves."

And yet, they seem to know all about the movie from reading about it from biased drek like this article. For shame. So no. I can concede some people have their own original thoughts, but for the most part, it's mostly just sheep around here.

You've seen the movie right? You have an objective view, right? Now answer truthfully.

"you really are coming off as infantile with the name calling/dropping."

And what would you call this by the author? "so he can get rid of his puny white body and become a big blue stud. Sounds like the worst case of white guilt/pee pee envy ever imagined. Talk about Freudian, Mr. Cameron."

Sorry, but all is fair to me.

Thank you for the positive feedback.
