And I think what makes it worse, is he knowingly displays his arrogance, and flaunts it. Almost as if he is proud of it. That is what really really makes blood shoot out of my eyes. I have to change the channel when he gives speaches, or even talks, and then go back and read transcripts because he makes me so mad.

The comparison of 2 helicopters flying to Camp David, vs Air Force One (747) flying into Newburgh NY, then having to caravan and stop traffic (using state and local police) from there down to Martha's Vineyard alone would be more than the cost of the vacation, and thats just the transpo. Like you said, having secret service comb through the area for weeks, like I'm sure they've already done, is gona add major $$$ to the tab. It's all around rediculous.

And even asuming in a perfect world and he payed out of pcket for all of these expenses, what the example he setting by doing this? He tells us all to cut back, quit living beyond our means, blah blah blah..... Then he goes to Martha's Vinyard? He can shove his advice were the sun don't shine........

I think you misunderstood me dominke...all I was saying is if he is that he can spend his sallary how he se fits, BUT the extra cost of the secret service to secure the area and the transportation to Martha's Vineyard (along with any of the other crap he is gona need) is a tax payer expense, thus it's a bad idea to go to "Snobville".

Arrogance, Hubris, Narcissism, and Megalomania. All words that Obama practically prescribes to. Every statement made by man, and every action he takes (or dosn't take). Steps further and further beyond any of these terms. There needs to be a new term, because none of these go far enough to describe this man.

Kinda of a wishy washy way to look at it though. Service members, Postal Employees, and any other govt worker technically get their salary from the tax payer, and they get to spend there monay any way they want.

However, the expense to the Secret Service to secure the area, provide transport to Martha's Vineyard, and a host of other set up expenses that all wouldn't exist if he went to Camp David.

And as much as I agree with msweig on this, your right on the money. His double standard is shown day in and day out. We can't drive SUV's or Turn up the AC...but He gets to make the White House hot as hell when it was 25 this winter, and won't give up any of his big escort vehicles....
