With the property tax rates as high as they are in Adams County I can see why people waited. It is tough to come up with the money. If you set a date of July 1 then you should be open to take the money. Since it was not open, all the people should be refunded their late payment fees. How could anybody feel that a Sunday was a good day. Even credit card companies are more logical than our elected officials.
Does the 6th and Jersey property have an IEPA sign-off and do we have it writing? W/O, this could be an albatross and a money pit.
Hopefully the City does not let Mallory off the hook for any leaky tanks. If the tanks are leakers Mallory should pay the city to take it. Better yet have Mallory get rid of the tanks and get clearance from IEPA. Will they obtain a guarantee from him on the tanks? If not OK he pays to clean-up. Experience tells me there will be problems and the City needs to protect the taxpayers.
Great time to evaluate and prioritize. What do we really need? Not what is done to make people feel good. Evaluate City and County Government, Park District, Library and our school systems to determine what is actually needed. Without it this maay be a city and state no one can afford.
IIs her salary being decreased? The way it reads she gets a 6% boosts on top of her current salary. Hope I am wrong. Is the current retirement package for teachers and admin include a 6% increase for their last 3 years? Thanks again for the replies.
Could someone please tell me what the standard retirement package is for teachers and administrators. From the article on Ms Glaub's retirement package she did not have to maintain her position to keep her salary and pay bumps or will her salary be adjusted for her new position. Thanks for anyone letting me know.
