wmfrozen. I agree you need to love the sinner and not the sin. But if you believe in this statement you should not believe that gay marriage is okay to legalize, because that is the sin. Allowing gay marriage is condoning the sin. And standing against gay marriage does not mean you do not love the sinner.
I know this will sound silly to some but thats like saying we should legalize robbery. Because sin is sin in Gods eyes. And the sin is robbery (which obviously we should not legalize) and the sinner is the robber (whom, yes, we should love).
And free will does not mean we should do whatever we want. Free will is what we were given as a gift. A gift to choose to do the right thing. A gift to choose if we want to follow Gods leading. I choose to follow Gods leading and therefore I choose to avoid sin. Do I mess up? Sure. But that's why God forgives us.
Mr. Huckabee is saying we should not legalize a sin. And I admire him for standing up for what he believes in. Too often this country and the leaders in it try to be people pleasers and say that they are okay with just about everything. They want votes or they want support so if someone asks them their view on something that they may not necessarily agree with they give a "to each his own" answer. I believe this is a major downfall of our country. "If you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything"

Feel free to tell me in what context these were taken from(not getting smart with you, I'm curious). But it still doesn't negate the fact that they built our country on Christian principles. Are you aware you can do this without "religion"? Anyone who doesn't realize this country was built on these principles no matter what your beliefs could not have ever taken an American history class. I'm not wanting to argue. I just think its an unnecessary point you are trying to make because it doesn't change what I said.

Just because someone is against homosexuality, it doesn't mean they are judging or looking down on those people(at least they shouldn''t be). They are simply against homosexuality. We have all sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. Who are we to judge others when we too have sinned? I know many people who live the homosexual lifestyle, some are even family and I love them truly and deeply but the fact remains that homosexuality is a sin. I pray for those who struggle with it or those that are happy to be that way. But I also pray for myself and my own sins.
As far as religion and government, I think some of the above commenters are mostly upset because America was in fact founded on Christian principles and we have slowly been straying from those principles little by little. We need to be able to change and adapt but I don't believe we should change our once deep rooted primary principles. This will only shake our foundation.

60-65!?!? It was actually all the way south to Ozark. So much traffic. But I'm so glad no one was hurt, this had potential to be much worse.
