Mr Fields was a very talented artist and welder, who passed long before his glory. It is disgusting that the City would just toss this unique piece. It's their very lack of maintenance, both on Baseline and Airport Rd, that precipitated the demise of a 'period piece' of Boulder's history. Now we have those 'art'sie flashing yellow lights near the old location. We are being let down by our city leaders on a fairly consistent basis these days. We've come a long ways / NOT!

Boulder Creek had less than a 25 yr flood in 2013. When, and it will come soon, we have the 100 or even 500 yr event, much of the downtown creek area will be unrecognizable. Would this type of disclosure happened in the middle of World War II? We are still at war now, with the President putting more troops in the field, and it just doesn't make any sense to disclose our tactics to the enemy. It borders on Treason and seems terribly dangerous to all those risking their lives to protect our freedoms. There may well be a time and place to evolve these issues, but why now. And who exactly does this benefit?
