The US cannot rely on Turkey as well as Europe for that fact. Every NATO deployment is US heavy; Europe is cutting its military to the bone and placing the burden on the US; Europe has been allowed to do this for the last 60 years. When you evaluate what benefit the US gets out of the arrangement; it’s miniscule in comparison to the strain it places on US budgets.
One member with a veto can sink the research and development of anti-ballistic missile systems being jointly developed by the US and Israel. Turkey is not involved with the program but yet it wants to influence the US relationship with Israel through NATO. As Turkey goes more Islamic the ties of the NATO organization are being pulled by Turkey against Israel. Turkey is but one member out of 28 and in the US distrust for Turkey is growing because of the anti-Israeli stance Ankara is taking.

This is not to delegitimize the Arabs living in the territories known as Judea and Samaria; the truth delegitimizes falsehoods perpetrated by the PLO leader Yasser Arafat who coined the term Palestinian in 1967. Now where in history is a state called Palestine? Read Roman history it was renamed Palestine by the Romans; that’s 2000 years ago and is just an effort by the Arabs to show legal claim to land they themselves conquered.
The State of Pennsylvania dictates to all PA school boards through law that they have to negotiate with the teachers union. The teachers have collective bargaining rights that we don't have. We the owners of the schools and the owners of the very state government that conceived of such a corrupt arrangement are demanding reform of our education system and want the state to take control of all aspects of running that education; especially since they mandated that we the people have no choice.
After reading the article I know now why Europe is going broke. As for Oslo losing the city to Muslim gangs; they never fought the gangs; they just gave that section of the city to the Muslims. That is the failure of European multiculturalism, the central governments of France, Germany, and Norway have just given up parts of there countries to Islamic law. Iraq will split up into 3 autonomous states; one Shiite, one Sunni and one Kurdish as a result of Civil War based on religious hatred. Iran will form a coalition with Southern Iraq making Muqtada al-Sadr its principle leader. Al-Malaiki will be forced to flee Baghdad where the Sunni will slaughter the Shiite. Iran will intervene on the side of the Shiite sending troops to support Al-Sadr in Southern Iraq; the US will intervene sending the Iranians back across the border. A confederacy of Arab (Sunni) state will gather in Baghdad to draw up plans to invade Iran.
Syria will be in a full civil war within 4 months. The Syrian people have tried non-violence and now they have their martyrs for the revolution to start. Oh you know where all those Libyan arms went now. I hope the Syrian people succeed in overthrowing Assad and his minority of thugs; that would have real implications for Iran who deserves a kick in the teeth. VIVA LA Revolution, Syrian style. You know it got to be that way because, Assad will never leave while in a vertical position.
I agree and would also add that all though I was not at Kent State; I was part of that generation of the 60's and believe me; it was about drugs, drinking, sex and music; I think there's a song in there somewhere? That whole generation had authority problems and couple that with a war; you have protests. But basically we just wanted to party! That's why it disappeared after Nixon's resignation.
The Occupy Wall Street crowd cannot be compared to the radicals of the 1960’s-1970; Vietnam was a very unpopular war coupled with the draft, the SDS add pro communists who hate whatever America stands for; you got violence. I haven’t heard one thing that Occupy actually stands for. I can only assume that they are anti-capitalist or socialist, to tell you the truth I don’t know. But from what I have observed the numbers are not there to actually become a major protest movement. Remember the radicals of 50 years ago disappeared when Nixon resigned over the Watergate break-in and cover-up. Most of the protesters went back to school or went to work and are now today’s conservatives; funnier thing have happened in history.
