"I just want someone in the White House to have some balls, and if they don't start growing soon, then a woman might have to bring 'em."

Amen! Preach it, sistah!! Our male side had better start growing some or it's gonna take us wimmin-folk to pull 'em out of the fire for ya.

Ok, ok, I'll be the one to say it:

Roger Ebert. I give him a thumb's down.

I'm great, AA, and how are you today?

I almost forgot about Prisoner of Zenda. Very enjoyable classic adventure flick. I remember the first time I saw it, I got the biggest crush on Doug Fairbanks, Jr. All 3 leads, Colman, Niven, and Fairbanks, were excellent. If I recall, there was a real thrilling sword fight. Gotta love those swashbucklers.

Love Ronald Colman and that smooth distinctive voice!

His best part was in A Double Life. I particularly enjoyed the scene where he strangles Shelley Winters. He won an Academy Award for it. Good. For that gesture alone, he deserves some kind of reward!

McLintock? Uncool? You've got to be kidding! It's Wayne and O'Hara, for crying out loud!

Not only is The Jolson Story one of my all-time favorites, but it's sequel, Jolson Sings Again, is almost as good. And don't even try to get in a songs-of-Jolson contest with me, my friend. I would show you just how un-cool I can be!

I also love the old Bette Davis/Joan Crawford "women's" flicks of the thirties and forties, particularly for the wardrobe, hairdos, and cigarettes. I smoke vicariously through Bette/Joan, et al, since I quit 5 years ago.

The Ross Hunter weepy, Imitation of Life with Lana Turner, is a must see. The acting is sooo cliched! ("He made me feel so...cheap!"). I had to find my own copy on Ebay in order to watch it over and over again.

Peggy Noonan is such an annoying character with her dramatic gestures and self-congratulating attitude.

Just sayin'...

Say what you want about Sarah, but she is one tough cookie with more stones than most male Republicans out there. With the possible exception of George Bush, this woman has taken a severe beating from her legion of enemies and she is still standing with a smile on her face. Most would have crumbled by now.

Remember Saint Hillary breaking down on the campaign trail and "showing us her vulnerable side?" ha

I would love to see William Shatner try on one of Spader's sweaters.
