Exactly. If I say I'm a vegetarian, but eat beef on a regular basis and write cookbooks on the joys of bacon, my claim of being a vegetarian are false, as my actions contradict the definition of what a vegetarian is. The "No True Scotsman" fallacy does not apply.

Meanwhile, this poster conveniently forgets that South Carolina and Louisiana -- southern states -- both elected Indian governors...who are Republicans. This conservatives = racists fiction simply doesn't work anymore (things that contradict reality usually don't last) and just shows the desperation and complete inability of proponents to argue their side. When you have nothing to say, try a diversion, I guess.

No, I don't think you're being bigoted in these criticisms. Possibly just trolling me, but I've been giving you the benefit of the doubt.

I don't draw a grand conclusion based on a few select verses. Quite the contrarty. If I was only isolating "particulars", as you say, I would indeed be unjust. But I am not doing that. I am looking at multiple verses, hadiths, sharia, the life of Mohammed, the statments of respected Muslim scholars, and more.

Nor do I pretend that my assertions aren't directed at all Muslims. They're not. Ideas are not people. Not all Muslims follow the teachings of the Koran or the life of Mohammed as they appear in black and white. Some choose to ignore them. Some even choose to disregard them. I wish more did.

As I've repeated said but you continue fail in grasping, I have the ability to be tolerant and even be friends will all sorts of people who don't share my views or beliefs, even while disagreeing with them.

Again, criticism does not equal bigotry. My wife was working on a invitation design and asked me to look at it. I was critical of a few elements which enabled her to improve her design. Was I being bigoted? Of course not. If I'm critical of a writer's literary efforts, amd I bigoted against him? If a teacher tells a student that their answer is wrong, are they exhibiting bigotry towards that student? Of course not.

I'm just not getting why you can't separate an idea from a people. Not all beliefs or ideas are equally valid. It's impossible. If two ideas contradict, either one or both are wrong. They can't both be right. Saying so isn't bigotry.

Heck, are you bigoted towards me? You seem to find fault in my statements. Yet you seem to consider it a great sin if I find fault in teachings of the Koran.

No, there is no contradiction. Besides, I don't think there is any "true" Islam. There is one Koran, though, that all Muslims revere to one degree or another. If there's a group of Muslims who don't use the Koran that would be new to me. The Koran has specific verses that instruct followers to act violently towards non-Muslims. Also, all Muslims look to Mohammed as the messenger of God and founder of Islam. If there are Muslims that don't subscribe to this then I wonder if they can be qualified as being Muslim. Mohammed, who is looked at as the perfect role model by every vein of Islam I'm familiar with, lived a life of violence and debauchery.

So while there are various strains of Islam, there are common elements that all subscribe to. Do all Muslims adhere to the violent teachings in the Koran? No, of course not. But that does not mean these teachings do not exist, or that people should not be critical of these teachings.

Who are you quoting? If you're trying to paraphase me, don't use quotes, since I didn't say what you quoted. First off, criticism does not equal bigotry. Even if someone criticized all Christians, that wouldn't be bigotry.

If you're not a Muslim, then you think some of the claims Islam makes are wrong. Does that make you a bigot? You can't claim to not be a Muslim while refusing to say you disagree with Islam's truth claims.

I'm diggin Cain. Something about Perry and Romney just rubs me wrong. I can't put my finger on it. Must be racism or something. Which is odd since I'm white.

I agree, I do find racism in the concept that if a person doesn't vote for a black person they're racist. *I* was being sarcastic, of course, as that's not a belief I personally hold. So no racism here. But I don't need any luck finding liberal instances of charging people who don't support Obama with racism. I hear it daily. Mr. Freeman above was following that same unfortunate line of thinking. Many liberals can't seem to grasp the concept that people have a problem with his IDEAS, not his race. Instead they accuse conservative opposition to Obama as being motivated by racism. As if conservatives would be onboard with his ideas if he happened to be white. Utter nonsense, all of it.

Again, you seem to have a problem separating the disgreement with an idea with hatred of a person. Yet you seem to have no trouble disagreeing with me. I guess that means you hate/oppose me as a person?

Yes, I would disagree with someone critical of Christianity being called a bigot. That would make no sense. Not really a stress test as there's nothing stressful in that concept. I'm flabbergasted that you think its impossible to think an idea is wrong without being hateful of the people who hold that idea.

I was elected chapter leader of an organize I'm a member of. As leader, I appointed as my second in command a liberal athiest. We consider each other friends. I think her politics and beliefs on God are completely wrong. Yet I was able to be friends and even trust her in a position of leadership.

I feel a bit sad for you if in fact you can't figure out how to be friends with , or at least not hateful towards, people who have ideas you think are completely wrong. Isn't the left suppose to be "tolerant"? You can't tolerate something you agree with or support.

You are such a garlic tasting pickled herring.

Sounds like nonsense? It is, as is your post.
