Hey jbone, you must be new around here. Don't come around here with facts or legitimate observations trying to pass it off as the truth. We deal with falsehoods and hyperbole. We don't need anyone trying to muddy the water with actual first hand experience.
This is an easy problem to fix. A little music from the Foxpro overlaid with some .223 fire. Coyote problem solved. Or we can let the politicians spend tens of thousands of dollars and not get any results.
I hope nobody is surprised by this. The unfortunate truth is our political ranks are full of unscrupulous clowns like this. And before anyone thinks I am picking on the Republicans, it is pervasive among both the Republicans AND the Democrats. It is no wonder this country is in such a mess. Let's hope whoever replaces puts higher value on values.
This is no different than any other organized crime group would do. You see new businesses moving in to an area and making some good money, you move on them and strong arm them for a cut of the profits. It is a story as old as time itself. Any group in Portland not being "street taxed" in one way or another stand by. You are next.

I can't say the left or the right is without fault when it comes to this. I keep waiting for one side to conduct themselves as adults. I think I still have a bit of waiting to do. The truth of the matter is that our politicians are so busy trying to appease every group that will bring a few votes that our country is going to continue to suffer under BOTH parties.
Just another case where the city government discovered people enjoying themselves FOR FREE!!! They had no choice but to move to stomp this out.

If Oakridge needs money why don't they just make highway 58 a 25 MPH zone where it goes through town and run a 24/7 speed trap........... Oh wait, they already do that.
Just because someone works in a certain business does not mean they understand all of the forces at work, or that they are even any good at it. Just take a look at all of the businesses that fail. The wall street debacle requiring a bailout is another example. There really is no substitute for good old fashioned common sense. In my opinion if I am going to some location to stay for a few days I am checking prices! I might stay in an adjacent town if it is a whole lot cheaper.
