One simple answer is that African Americans comprise about 13% of the population. Gee, that would make a Tea Party gathering, or any gathering that collects a wide swath of Americans, like it has few Afircan Americans.

This article is written by another East Coast, urban living, author who has no idea of what the face of the rest of America looks like.

Not only is President Zero not an economist, he is also not a very good student of history. What he is saying is Keynesian economics. We tried that in the 1930's. It doesn't work.

For those who say that WWII is what snapped us out of the Depression, that is only partially correct. Consumer spending, the real engine of an economy, ramped up after the war, as did exports used to rebuild Europe.

And this just in....90% of Americans still ignore Canada and Canadians. When recently asked about their northern neighbors, the typical American response was, "Who? Oh yeah, those guys. I almost forgot about them. I hear it's cold up the there and their rye whiskey is awful."

But, but, but, WAIT! The Big 0 was going to pull the globe together with his sheer will and presence. Didn't the Iranian press get the memo from Robert Gibbs? What kind of barbarian are these Iranians? Don't they know the Big 0 is here to love them? The fact that they liked America under Bush just shows you how out of touch these people. GET MSNBC ON THE PHONE! THESE PEOPLE NEED TO BE RE-EDUCATED!

Interesting....I haven't seen any recent polls to tell me how much the Germans, French, et al, no longer like us. The press fed us that drivel weekly during the last administration. My suspicion is the honeymoon is over, everyone is back to disliking us because we are on top. So, move along, nothing to see here....those poll results don't matter...move along...

Well done. This get right ot the heart of the matter without beating it over people's heads.

I am the father of two incredible children, both adopted. The unspoken question many prospective parents have is "Will this child feel like mine?", as if by genetics, I have created a mystical bond with my own flesh and blood. When it comes to bonding with your aodptive child, my experiece was that holding my son for the first time was life changing. The emotions hit me in the chest like a lightening bolt and left my knees weakened. It also awakened a protective, almost feral animal like instinct, to protect my child. Intellectually, I understood this could happen, the momma bear protecting the cubs instinct, but the intensity of that emotion is incredible. I can not believe that feeling and the bond to my son could have been cold have been any stronger just if I had passed on genes to him.

The adoption process is daunting, but don't let it deter you. The payoff makes the effort seem like nothing.
