When it comes to equality, there's an insurmountable difference between inexorable physical traits (e.g. skin color) and the contents of one's mind. While mental minorities are free to have deviant thoughts, there is no constitutional obligation to elevate deviant thoughts with a law promoting action on those deviant thoughts. Even the all-Democrat Vermont supreme court admitted marriage laws don't violate equal protection, which is why they expressly declared they would ignore it in order to force their irrational, leftist politics on Vermont citizens by fiat.
Another incompetent ruling by socialists and communists on the 9th Circuit. Marriage equality already exists. Every person has the exact same rights. Like insanity, homosexuality is a birth or learned mental defect (i.e. where the mind doesn't match the body, i.e., men trapped in women's bodies and vice versa). We don't pass laws to promote insanity or other mental defects. We do pass laws to encourage a preferred environment for biological parents to reproduce & raise their own biological children, which is impossible for homosexuals. Exceptions where married couples don't or can't have children or unmarried couples do have children doesn't change that fact. As for discrimination, we individuals and governments discriminate every day for good reason. States are not required to treat different kinds of contracts or entities the same, e.g., corporations can be treated differently than partnerships and, likewise, marriage contracts can be treated differently than homosexual contracts. Also, states are not required to promote deviant behavior simply because they promote preferred behavior.
Communist leaders enjoy perks so this is acceptable to communists. Communists, including foreign invaders, only want Democrats and liberal Republicans to legally confiscate and redistribute wealth to them from their political enemies to supplement the wealth they already illegally steal for themselves. "Occupy" is merely a skirmish in a war communists d/b/a Democrats declared on Americans many decades ago.

The largest and still united trio of forces of evil in the world are Muslims, socialists and communists, all of whom hate freedom (both social and economic, e.g., private property & free-enterprise), hate America and hate Christians so much they are forever trying to "fundamentally transform" or murder their way to ideological purity. The bodies of hundreds of millions of people strewn about the world in the past century alone highlight the persistent threat from the Axis of Evil. The Axis of Evil emits a constant stream of schemes to dilute and redistribute Americans to death, on top of trying to blow them up.

What sparked the Crusades were attacks by militant Muslims in Islamic Conquests (Jihads). Jihadists invaded Christian territories after Muhammad died in 632. Their Jihads against Christians and Jews continued century after century. By 923, jihad wars had expanded the Muslim empire from Portugal to the Indian subcontinent. Subsequent Muslim conquests continued in Asia, as well as on Christian eastern European lands. The Christian kingdoms of Armenia, Byzantium, Bulgaria, Serbia, Bosnia, Herzegovina, Croatia, and Albania, in addition to parts of Poland and Hungary, were also conquered and Islamized. When the Muslim armies were stopped at the gates of Vienna in 1683, over a millennium of jihad had transpired. The Jihadists were as sick in the 600's as they are today, brutally attacking any "non-believer."
In summary, there are tens of millions of traitorous socialists and communists d/b/a Democrats with no loyalty to America as it is constituted and who hate America so much they are forever trying to "fundamentally transform" it. If it weren't Obama it would be another Democrat traitor doing the same thing. Democrats running government is nothing but organized crime syndicate that steals, redistributes and skims wealth by one scheme or another. Democrats are Americans' # 1 enemy.
Socialists and communists can't stand anything to the right of them, whether liberal, moderate or conservative. If it doesn't promote [1] freedom without responsibility, [2] wealth without work, [3] representation without taxation, [4] crime without punishment and [5] religion without morality then socialists and communists consider it a personal attack on them. Moral, useful people across the globe tend to have the same enemies - taxpayer dependent politicians, socialists, communists and unscrupulous profiteers as well as aggressive Muslims.
Life is not fair to everyone, unless of course a left-wing international body makes the decision. In that case, life is much more than fair. This hermaphrodite has both male and female equipment. When an unusually large "clitoris" looks more like a penis then it meets the minimum test for a male. It is completely unfair to female athletes who are champions to be shoved down the podium to make the likes of GLAAD happy.
