Ayn Rand had a special scorn for conservatives like Gingrich, which she articulated brilliantly in her book "Capitalism, the Unknown Ideal" in chapters like "Conservatism - An Obituary" (1962). I think they disgusted her even more than liberals, because she felt that if anyone should be defending the free market, it should be conservatives, and yet here they are attacking it every chance that they get because they have accepted the rules of the left and don't have the guts to stand up for the economic system which made America great.

You are an idiot. Where in my post does it say that I used a fraudulent SSN? Disagreeing with my actions is one thing, lying through your teeth is quite another. I quite legally obtained a tax ID using my real identification. Then, I quite legally obtained a genuine EIN. I registered my business legally also. None of it was "under the table," nor did I use a fake ID or lie about who I am. I created a number of jobs, paid my employees on the books, matched their payroll contributions, and myself paid income taxes and self employment taxes, as well as collected a substantial amount of sales tax for the state. How many jobs have you created for America? What have you contributed to the economy? And if you are going to call me a criminal, I will ask you this: can you put your hand on your heart and swear on the lives of your family that you have never broken a law? Seriously, I would like an answer to this.

I was illegal the first 6 years I was here. I was aware that I was technically breaking the law, but you know what? I otherwise behaved myself. I started a business, obtained a tax ID, opened a bank account, paid income taxes, obtained a Employer Identification Number, took on employees (requiring them to fill out an I9 was a hoot), paid them disability and workers comp and paid all of the relevant payroll liabilities. My business was licensed, insured and bonded and property registered with the city. It's possible to do all of this as an illegal - the only thing you can't do is take a job with an employer. And even though I was paying into social security etc via my self employment taxes, I wasn't entitled to claim a single cent in return. I didn't mind. There is no excuse for illegals not to pay taxes, even if they're paid cash in hand. In fact many do. Many, however, don't. Looking back, I don't see any good reason for people like me to be thrown out. I created 12 jobs and paid my way and kept my nose clean. I eventually got my green card through marriage and hope to become a citizen in the near future. There should be a way for people in similar circumstances to stay, provided they fulfill a certain criteria. No criminal record, pay taxes, run a business etc.

The dialog heard on the feed is hilarious too. I just heard someone bitching that their "private property" is being thrown in a dumpster---like these Marxists have all of a sudden figured out the importance of private property. Now some woman is screaming "I hope your kids die" at the cops. Earlier I heard someone saying that the CBS chopper was having to leave because of all the other NYPD choppers in the air, and that this was obviously "police tactics to stop the media from reporting what was going on," as if all of a sudden the "corporate media' is their friend. I'm loving seeing these people unravel in every way. It's like when HAL went mad in 2001, lol .

Last night I inadvertently watched a video that's doing the rounds of two Mexican drug cartel members being decapitated with a chainsaw. The level of savage brutality was such that I have absolutely no hope for these people whatsoever, the military should just wipe them out as quickly as possible. The two guys didn't even look frightened, in fact one of them lifted his chin for the chainsaw, I don't really know how "human" they can actually be.

It's very relevant. The term was coined during a time in which the rags to riches story was common. You seriously need to update your perception of the so-called "robber barons" too....start with the book "The Myth Of The Robber Barons." The only true "robber barons" were those who were political entrepreneurs and milked the taxpayer (Edward Collins etc). The market entrepreneurs (Hill, Vanderbilt, and Rockefeller etc) succeeded by offering the best products at the best prices, and they enriched society immeasurably.

The left's argument here is that they have every right to use the park since it's a "public space" and they, supposedly, are the public. But "public use" means entirely that - it doesn't say anything about taking over the park and making it unusable for ordinary people. I used to eat my lunch there sometimes - you'd see all sorts of people: tourists, construction workers, students from the nearby college, office workers, mothers with small children etc. THAT is what is meant by public use, not a filthy fecking shanty town full of drug addicts and violent felons into which no normal person would dare venture. The park's owner is, I conclude, legally obliged to evict them and return the park to the use for which it was legally intended.
