Take a look at this tutorial - http://www.wmexperts.com/articles/howto/how_to_ed...

Afaik, the device model info is kept in the ROM, not in the registry, like HTC_KAISER, HTC_RAPHAEL, etc. So you'll need to edit the ROM for it. Plenty of information can be found at www.xda-developers.com web site on ROMs, editing, etc.

As for the Windows OS type, Standard vs Pro, I don't know where it is kept. You can again check xda-developers site.

Sorry, all the releases I have seen/used/read about were for Professional Edition. You will need to edit not only the device type but also the device model, as it strictly checks it during install.

The last version I had seen was set to run on HTC Kaiser, Xperia X1 and HTC Raphael (iirc). Of course little rom hacking did wonders :)

I'll see if I can dig it.

I haven't seen any success stories on running Blackberry Connect or Blackberry Application Suite on a Samsung device. You can give a shot with Blackberry Connect, BAS definitely checks for device model.

See http://www.sems.org/entry.asp?ENTRY_ID=357, I don't think it will see the light of the day again...

What's the error message? Are u using an official rom? Did you try to flash by first putting the device in bootloader mode?
