Hi Ben,

Thanks for writing in. I've added a note at the top of my post to ensure readers will know that my posted experience with Site5 was primarily from mid-to-late 2008. This leaves the burden on you to improve the service and leaves people a chance to decide on their own. I guarantee that if I see an improvement, you will certainly hear a very positive review from me.

As web developers, we heavily influence the choices of many of our clients and friends. As a result it is my personal belief that consistency, followed by reliability, followed by excellent support is the trifecta one desires in a host. I hope to see these changes in yours.

Although I agree that there are complaints for any big host, Site5 has consistently gotten a major pile of them, especially at the famous WebHostingTalk forums. I have to applaud you for making an effort to improve the situation and acknowledging that Site5 definitely had major issues from 2007-2008. That sort of reflection is not easy to admit publicly, and already shows hope that you are different from the past owners.

I look forward to seeing Site5's reputation improve dramatically. Web developers need more reputable hosts out there, not less. I like your seasonal State of Site5 posts and hope to see further improvement with Site5 hosting.

PS: On most servers, index.html is the first priority followed by index.php. According to your tech support, this is not possible on your servers. If one visits index.php they get kicked back to index.html and it goes from there. The solution they gave was to rename index.php to index.php5 which led to problems with Wordpress. I've never had to do that elsewhere. Also your support chat script does not play nice with Google Chrome, and still hiccups with Firefox occasionally.
