Mr. WrestlingIV, you have been able to fully articulate what I've been screaming to the hills the last few years (I'm a libertarian). The people on the LEFT like THIS, at least, are NOT INTERESTED in dialogue, analogies, historical perspective, comparative cultures, critical analysis, introspection, etc etc. The irony being, these types of liberals are the anti-intellectuals.

Something they always accuse the RIGHT of being.

As a libertarian, I basically have done the same exact thing, and I am glad someone has actually thoughtfully articulated the position we find ourselves in. I am not a big fan of republicans, as a party, but at least they are sane. My wife and I grew so tired of having to defend ourselves in our VERY LIBERAL county, from certain friends we had who threw out the usual "bush is a nazi" stuff, that we just let those friendships die.

My wife is hispanic and I am white, and we are "open-minded" by an objective standard, but there is only so much stupidity we can handle in our lives and it gets to a point to where you have to ask, "how can I be friends with this person, they are truly insane, if they believe all this stuff"

As a libertarian who laughs at many republican jokes, and has no problem finding the humor in either side, I've always been curious how Jon Stewart got his gig, going back to when I first heard he was taking over the show years ago. He was never funny and the last few years have only convinced me more of that. The guy simply has no talent for actual humor, and merely relies on the sheeple nature of his audience and the teleprompter to attempt to be funny. Cobert actually IS funny.

As a father's rights advocate (and a libertarian), I am sickened by how often and casually the term "deadbeat" is applied to men (actually, only about 5 percent of fathers fail to pay child support and a much higher percentage of mothers fail to do so). Why don't we call women who have abortions what they truly are? DEADBEAT MOTHERS. They are women that do not WANT the responsibility of taking care of their children, so instead of having them, and giving them to the father (or adoption) and risk paying child support, all under the guise that they 'are not ready to bring a life in the world' (etc, read the actual text of Roe, it could apply to men as well)...they KILL THEIR CHILDREN.

And our society has the NERVE to call MEN "deadbeats". Not only are all women who have abortions deadbeats, women who support them are. I'm tired of women hiding behind phony logic and emotion. As one person said, if this was a woman putting a pillow over her child's face she would be murderer (but then, look at how we treat murdering mothers, anyhow). Women who abort are deadbeats, plain and simple.
