Earlier today on YouTube I watched a short documentary from Sundance, "Mr. Okra". It's about a man in New Orleans who sells produce from his truck. It was interesting, funny as hell in spots and unless I missed it, has no liberal bent to it. In fact, I'd say it was the opposite, with a "conservative" viewpoint of self-reliance along with a love for one's neighborhood and friends.

Are you sure he's a "leftist loon"? There was an article in here a half year or so ago that didn't say anything in that regard. The last political contribution I found (after a quick search) showed he gave two grand to GWB in 2004.

I do agree with you about not being able to separate the "artist" from their political leanings and disagree with LB Mayer about 'losing out.". I consider it as a minor boycott with my not wanting to support them in any way. Sure, anyone has the right to say what they like, even if it's profoundly stupid.
