"Yes, everyone in the UK with a TV has to get a licence and I would say it's very good value" I had a feeling you'd say it's good value (I'm alright Jack) but must clear up your mistake. You do not need a BBC TV Licence to own a TV, you only need one to watch 'live' transmisions which is something else the BBC forget to tell people!. "If you do have a TV then you're legally required to support the state broadcaster with revenue, same as you're legally required to pay your other taxes as well. Fair enough, I say. There you go again having ago at Sky just because it's own by Murdoch. You do know this is a very well known trait of the BBC and it's supporters (liberal/lefties). As for the BBC news not being biased well if you are a liberal/lefty that's how the BBC will come across but I noted they needed to spent £250.000 of BBC TV licence payers money to stop the Balen report going public which would have proven the bias in the middle east!. I also note you have ago at the Daily Mail which is a newspaper those who love the BBC hate with a vengence.

But they have spent hundreds of millions on the net and I'm sure I don't need to remind you that the BBC are known for copying the commercial sector like when Sky introduced a 24hr news channels guess who copied them!. Thats nothing, you've obviously not really thought about why the BBC is pushing millions into the internet. They know the viewing figures are going down while their spending is going up by hundreds of millions every year so they want an internet licence to replace it!
