I doubt James will go to jail but it was stupid. Incredibly stupid.

When you take a path with an intended result of uncovering unethical behavior, you must be squeaky clean.

James and his crew did great work with ACORN but he crossed the line with this action. I'm not going to excuse it and the people who are excusing this stunt should be ashamed of themselves. If his last name were al Bahri instead of O'Keefe, people would be screaming bloody murder. Don't screw around with federal buildings.

Don't be obtuse. They admitted it.

And here's a news flash: Innocent until proven guilty refers ONLY to a court of law. I have zero obligation to presume he and his buddies impersonated telephone maintenance workers for purely innocent reasons. Seriously... they entered a federal building under false pretenses, gained access to a US Senator's office and then attempted to access the phone equipment for that Senator's office. I doubt any of you would be so blase if the gentlemen in question had been radical Islamicists. Instead, you'd be blaming the Senator, her staff, the congress, etc... You can't have it both ways.

O'Keefe's excellent work blowing the lid off ACORN doesn't give him a free pass to be stupid and reckless with this stunt.

We do know they entered a Federal building under false pretense and that IS a crime.

Unfortunately, people are going to pretzel themselves trying to come up with an innocent explanation for why they were posing as phone company employees and trying to get access to the telephone closet. There is no legitimate reason for them to pose as phone company employees trying to access a US Senator's phone system.

They screwed up. Big Time.

If you're going to go after others for illegality and ethical problems, best be sure your nose is clean.

"Legal Person" is a technical term. A corporation is nothing more than a group of individuals who are allowed to legally act as if they were a single person for the purpose of entering into contracts, buying property and defending and/or initiating lawsuits. The left loves to talk about stripping corporations of their rights which is something not even China has done. Kinda makes you wonder about their motives....

Claiming legal persons have no rights is absurd. It would be like claiming individuals have freedom of religion but organized churches do not.

Perhaps you should read the affidavit and then you'd know:

Here's the specific code on entering a federal building under false pretenses:

http://law.onecle.com/uscode/18/1036.html

O'Keefe admitted to aiding and abetting the fake telephone repairmen.

And I wonder what happened to Hannah's earlier statement when she claimed: ""I am shocked by the reports of this behavior," Giles said. "I am well aware that following the law is an integral part of being a good investigative journalist."

Sorry, but some of you remind me Clinton supporters who jumped through hoops to excuse the fact that he lied under oath.

I don't tolerate that crap from the left and I don't tolerate it from the right either.

I'm pretty sure the list of ethical behavior doesn't include violating the law to get your story.

Let's also remember we're a nation of laws, not of man. I doubt the founders intended for people to violate the law in order to show someone else is behaving in an unethical manner.

I'm not going to defend James in this case.
