If Apple does boycott Beck, make sure that the next time you go to one of their stores that you carry some really strong magnets in your pockets.
scottkntexas - I know exactly what you mean. I was a year early in school, tall, skinny, awkward and smart - and the victim of almost every bully for one or a combination of those factors in a crappy little town in Illinois where no one deserved to think that they were in any way superior to another. My wife asks me why I don't want to ever go to a high school reunion and it's because I'd probably get tossed in jail for assault since I've put on 90 pounds of muscle (some fat, too) since then and not awkward, anymore. I always say that I wouldn't piss in their mouths if their guts were on fire. Same thing that I think of several of the current politicians.
Everyone needs to take note that this total is about 1/3 of the total of annual flu deaths in the US alone. Now who got rich off this scam? I have a few ideas.
I agree with what you said, but want to expound on something. George W. Bush's unwillingness to contradict and fight back against the dems only emboldened them to press it further, and gave those issues legitimacy in the eyes of the brain-dead voters that depend on the Democrat Media Complex for their view of the news. This has significantly hurt the Republican Party and was responsible for giving us such cretins as Øbammy, Stuart Smalley, Jim Webb, etc... and further has emboldened the RINOs like Charlie Crist, Dede Scuuzzyfava, Olympia Snowe, etc... and pundits like Peggy Noonan, Kathleen Parker, Steve Chapman, etc... to let the dems define how they need to act to be perceived as "moderate". This is my biggest beef with W. I still love the man, his integrity, his honesty and his desire to do what he thought was right, but he received some BAD advice on how to respond to his critics.
It is impossible to put a dollar amount like this on the fallout from the Tiger's wandering johnson story. Could be way over $12B, could be way under $12B. There is always a lot of temporary noise in the stock market. Most of it gets filtered out over time.
In my opinion, celebrity endorsements rarely add long-term, intrinsic value to a company. They DO however, definitely cost the company a lot of real-time money for their endorsements, though. It's an advertising expense that gets justified through the concept of "incremental revenue". One of the smartest CEO's I ever knew, after a pitch by one of his Marketing EVP's, just rolled his eyes and said, "If I had every incremental dollar that you guys have claimed to be responsible for, this company would have $100 billion in sales, instead of our $1 billion".
Read up on some recent Supreme Court rulings as to the presumption of privacy for discarded documents.
And you're not keeping up if you haven't read why the info is not in the hands of the prosecutors. There is an outstanding offer to turn it all over. AG Moonbeam is still consulting the chicken entrails and throwing bones in order to decide what he is going to do.
The public certainly is watching this. As much as they're watching the Great Global Warming Swindle play out. Both issues have gone viral on the internet and even some MSM outlets have had to pick it up as a result.
And just who was selling securities?
Don't you just love the fact that ACORN is so "soil my panties" upset over this that they are sending their operatives out to blogs to post additional misinformation? But they don't even know the law! Oh, here's a question for you: "what's the difference between a code violation and the law"? Lots! And they don't understand that gov't officials don't have to care how information is derived before it gets to their hands - just as long as they weren't complacent in it's gathering.
But that's all superfluous stuff when you get down to it. The biggest point is this: The court of public opinion is the institution that is judging in this matter and it looks like it didn't take long at all for the guilty verdict to be rendered. It just got down to who people chose to believe - an entity and it's operatives that have demonstrably LIED on every issue and at every turn, or the people who have been proven to have only exposed the truth and have been proven to not have uttered a single misleading or false statement.
As a Financial Adviser, I recommend that EVERYONE put their money in companies that make paper shredders. Between the Great Global Warming Swindle, ACORN, SEIU and the Liar-in-Chief at the WH and every DNC sponsor and office, these paper shredder machine companies (Fellowes and Brother immediately come to mind, with Pitney-Bowes making the big industrial shredder that most of these offices will need judging by the size and scope of their lies) are not going to be able to produce enough shredders to meet the HUGE demand. I am predicting shredder SHORTAGES. These people are going to be spending any amount of money necessary to get those that can be found. Buy now before it is too late! This is the ONE AND ONLY industry that 's guaranteed to grow under the Øtard Administration - and in industry parlance, this is known as "A Lead Pipe Cinch". Don't miss out on "the next Microsoft".
Folks, this paves the way for a HUGE civil suit against SEIU and potentially the dem Party.
