Very well written and explained Di. I've always felt that it's important for people to understand the difference between being religious and being spiritual. Even though they go hand-in-hand, most people don't realize it. I'm believer of respecting every religion because no religion that one follows teaches us to hate another. If you can't respect other religions then you can't respect your own religion. Simple as that. It's easy to read a Holy book but if you don't understand the meaning of what you've read..then what's the point? It's important to understand the meaning because that's the only we'll really and truly understand our faith and this world. It's the only way to not let fundamentalist brainwash you into believing something that isn't true.

I like the way you can 'play' around with the words. Reading this poem seemed as if you were reading my thoughts. True and straight to the point. Loved it.

There's this huge problem with certain people trying to be perfect and those who find perfection in inner peace. Perfection comes from within - not to impress anyone but by being yourself. I've seen people lose all they've had just to be perfect. In my opinion, you can be perfect as long as you don't lose your peace and your sanity. Everyone has a different definition for perfection. Some find perfection in accomplishing their goals and being happy while others find perfection in destroying lives to reach to the top. The big question is - are you happy by destroying others? Is that your idea of being a perfect human? I'd rather not be 'perfect' because at least I'll be happy with myself. That to me is much more important and worth the effort to be 'perfect'. Anyways, there's no such thing as being 'perfect'. None is perfect - regardless of how much one tries. It's all in the mind. You can think you're perfect but the world may think of you as the biggest jerk/loser on this planet. I guess you've reached you're perfect then, eh?

Loved this post - think it was much needed for people who try to make everything so complicated. Live simply, you'll be the happiest.

Exactly :) Why point fingers at someone else if you can't practice your own religion first and that too correctly.

Welcome to our blog Kevin.

Absolutely. One can only pray that the people realize the importance of standing up to such issues and doing what's right. Money and power will never take a man anywhere until and unless he opens up his heart.

Thank you for stopping by and hope to see more of you.

Very well said. Humanity can't be purchased yet people don't seem to care. Once we change our attitude to look at positive side of everything, only then we will think of other humans as our own.

That is all we can do is pray and ask for God's mercy.

I have been so disturbed by this horror that I just have no words. Is this the world we're living in where people stand to watch someone being stoned to death as if it's a circus? The people had the nerve to stand and make videos but not stop this horror? Where are the feelings of these humans? What kind of example are we setting for our future generations? Even the animals don't treat their own the way we humans do.
We sit here and have a world of topics to talk about, countless conversations and jokes we share but we can never ever share or even imagine the pain of the parents of these victims. I just pray for the families and the victims of such horror. May God take care of those who just stood there and especially those who are responsible for these deaths. Every moment I pray for justice because if today we are not given justice, we never will be able to ever ask for any sort of justice ever.

I feel sick to even consider myself a citizen of this selfish world.
