It's a bloody POW camp...as such the "detainees" are held until the "war is over" & don't need trials, lawyers, etc. Cheny should have made that point...didn't. Also, how are we funding "gitmo"...Cheny said that US taxpayers would fot the bill if they were moved to the US...HUH? By the way...how bad does it look for the President to book airtime to rebut a speech, & to give a speech that he's in favor of National Security...how scary is that...should't that be a "GIVEN"? More importantly, the idea that the "country is good" has been seen when in situations susch as when hundred & thousands dropped what they were doing on 9/12 & went to New York to help at ground zero, it is seen when a neighbor invites you into thier home on a freezing-cold day & the power is out & they have a kerosesne heater or a pellet stove & in thousands of other acts that happen every day without the Government ever even knowing about it. Please don't make the mistake of thinking that "the government" is the country...we "THE PEOPLE" are. Noone seems to look at the true implications of this, & the news media...even FOX & the talk radio crowd have it wrong. The question is not "if she lied", its "what if she's telling the truth", & even more important "when is she pressing charges". If she & Speckter are telling the truth then our eyes & ears to the rest of the world are blind & deaf because they cannot be trusted. The media should be asking "when are you pressing charges...period" everyone is so busy playing polotics & "gotcha" that the bigger, & scarier picture has been lost. As a side note to all the "Bush lied & people died" crowd...did Pelosi just change the mantra to "The CIA lied & people died?"
