It wasn't exactly a brotherly moment but I loved the two of them in complete sync when they kicked the door open. Beautiful and sexy.

Actually from what I read on another site - in the movie Ice Pirates there was a thing on the ship that could travel from person to person and infect them - they called it a herpe.  So I think Dean was doing a pop culture reference that only a few caught. I've seen the movie but didn't remember that.

No one got a chance to tie up Grandpaw - when he kept stepping slowly toward Sam - Sam knew enough not to let him get to Sam's gun and actually pulled the trigger. (I hate when the good guy lets himself get disarmed when it's obvious the other guy is trying to get close enough to get your weapon).

I think they only tied up Sam because the situation with Grandpaw was so confusing - no goo from the worm exiting. That might mean the worm inhabited Sam and he killed Grandpaw for that reason. Dean had the exit goo in his ear after killing Gwen. I loved how Dean unhandcuffed/untied him the instant he saw Grandpaw come back to life.

My husband said the worm hadn't left Grandpaw because it hadn't completed his task - killing someone. I hadn't thought that one through but I liked the explanation about why it stuck around this time and animated a corpse.

Another Tuesday, another Sylvia Bond review. It hurts to think it will be 5 or 6 weeks before we get another one. As usual I will have to try to sneak a read at work and send some thoughts after reading. Just like to let you know how much I look forward to Tuesday mornings and your comments.

I've been reading a lot of the comments as they've come in to my email. I don't know about other people but my husband who I practically have to blind and gag to watch the show with me agreed to watch this one and loved it. He has loved all the meta episodes and has absolutely no knowledge of the meta jokes. He just enjoys the comedy. He doesn't care for most of the episodes giving the show a C- overall. His first year he even suggested he thought it played out as the brothers were delusional psychotics going around imagining these things and killing innocents. Of course, I think that was so I'd never ask him to watch again. After that it was rarely that I had him sit and watch with me. Until I discovered how much he loves the meta episodes - for whatever this extremely casual viewer that misses out on 98% of the jokes - loves this and every other meta episode. Food for thought when we worry about the viewer in the know not getting the jokes and being turned off.

I'm at work but had to make sure my Tuesday would be a good one and it will be because you've got your review up. I can't wait to sneak some time to read it. Thanks for getting it up so regularly.

Actually with souled Sam back for such a short time to him it isn't all that long since Satan left the building. He may know more than a year has gone by since he jumped into that hole but in his mind (when he isn't scratching and having flashbacks) it's only been a short time.

And on the Lisa and Dean front I just saw Lisa acting like a lot of couples do after the break-up. They get bitter and blame the other party for everything even when it was a mutual decision or their own decision. My son is going through a break-up like that - she wanted it now it's his fault.

I didn't so much see soulless Sam in his interactions with Johnny as a souled Sam who would really have liked to let Johnny know exactly what he thought of him - maybe with his fists. After all Dean did recommend handling memories of hell with bouts of violence along with the alcoholism.

Like you I really enjoyed the opening sequence and the brotherly touching. At the end I loved supportive Sam who thanked Dean (who he knows his worried sick about his well-being with the wall and all) for giving him back his soul. If something happens he at least wants his brother to know he wanted it back and appreciated what he did to get it back.

I also loved the call back to Live Free and Twi-hard on having Dean's back. This time it was spontaneously offered by Sam and in that episode it was only offered after Dean asked if he had his back. I really enjoyed that they gave it positive reinforcement that Sam meant it because it was volunteered.

I'm just enjoying the brothers being together in spirit again. Lisa and Ben are gone and Dean is with his real family. He's hurting because no matter what causes it or how long before closure, a break-up hurts emotionally even if you had begun to move on. I free he had because he didn't answer the phone - not so much as avoidance but acceptance that Lisa meant what she said - that they were done and she knew it from when Sam first returned - although if she knew it then why did she lead him on when he left - telling him a long distance relationship was possible - unless she felt it was a way of letting him down easy and he'd never show.

Just wanted to say how thrilled I was to see your review  - I only got the three or four paragraphs read but I agree completely. Will add more later after I get a chance.

I don't think it was just the three missing women all being women Sam slept with that made Dean think it was a trap. It was the text message with the co-ordinates that sent them there added to that fact. Obviously someone from before wanted Sam back there and since they went to so much trouble to hide their identity it probably wasn't for anything good.

Therefore to a protective big brother, it was someone up to no good who wanted to hurt his brother. So to Dean this means a trap set for Sammy.

I just have a second before leaving for work. Great to have both Supernatural and your reviews back.

I haven't read the comments so don't know if anyone else brought this up. I think Sam was just looking for any excuse he could come up with (no matter how ridiculous) to call Bobby. He knew something was off with him and was trying to find out what it was. The call made him only more suspicious so then he called Castiel. Since Sam already knew Portland didn't have a subway system I think he was already thinking in the direction of things like subways, sewers that have large caverns and are underground.
