Has anyone read "The Creature from Jekyll Island"? I just started reading it; looking for others to discuss the book.

What the heck? I have tried to call Glenn this week about a letter I received from the state of Kansas, wanting to tax MY business here in West Virginia. This goes back to January or February this year when it was reported that California and Kansas were both bankrupt and issuing IOUs to their tax payors for refunds.

ANYWAY - I am an insider and got through this morning to talk to Glenn and the girl hung up on me! I am not sure who is his call screener, but this is not the first time she has been rude. Anyone else ever have this happen?

I need HELP! First I feel like a goober not being able to figure this out myself, BUT I am new to this format. I am not able to find my previously made posts; seems the link is broken. Also, why does the form fill in soooo SLOWLY when I am typing here? It is like molasses. Not sure if it it my computer or traffic on this website. While Glenn was reading the letter today from Jake De Santis (resigning from A.I.G.) this morning, I passed my husband in our living room and I gave him a high-5 mid way through the letter. "YESSSS! I want to shake this guy's hand!" Then, in order to pass the story along to others via email, I had to go to the NYT - eek! - and look at it myself. The comments on the article were appalling - don't these people GET IT? This guy worked hard to get to where he is today - his parents worked and sacrificed to give him the best opportunities in life that they could. So, he gets a job that paid LOTS of money - he worked for it! But reading the comments, it is obvious that people do not see it that way - they just say, "Well, NO ONE deserves to make THAT kind of money" Says who???? Do you say the same thing about Hollywood stars being paid 20 million dollars for one picture? Or is THAT ok? It is the same idea. The scary thing to me is that it is plainly apparent that class warfare is alive and well in this country - and those who are angry about it are not going to change. Reminds me of "We the Living" in many ways.

Hey, last week I stopped at my local "Books A Million" and asked about "The 5000 year leap" - the associate at the store said - verbatim - "I wish that guy would SHUT UP because that book is out of print"! huh?!?!????

HMMM - I wonder who THAT GUY is - AND, apparently many other people were looking for the same book? HAHAHA - I told her "Well maybe you should have a section marked, books recommended by Glenn Beck". I ended up putting the book I was GOING to buy back on the shelf - Ben Sherwood's book - and I left without buying anything. I was a bit ticked off.

SO - I found the 5000 year leap on ebay - selling like hotcakes - and will get Ben's book from Amazon.
