: Why You Should Quit College

Ben Shapiro is one of the most crazed hypocrites on the Internet, and that's saying a lot. He's urging people to quit college when the first thing his bio boasts on his own website is his academic credentials: "Benjamin Shapiro was born in 1984. He entered UCLA at the age of 16 and graduated summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa in June 2004 with a BA in Political Science. He graduated Harvard Law School cum laude in June 2007."

Breitbart.com : Pentagon proposes cuts in budget, Army size

I love how all the "small government conservatives" shriek about cuts to our morbidly obese military budget. Most conservatives are not for limited government, only limited social programs.

Breitbart.com : HHS Imposes a $4.3 Million Civil Money Penalty for Violations of the HIPAA Privacy Rule

Good! We patients should have access to OUR health data, and companies should be punished for denying us access to OUR health data. If I want to check my health record for errors or to do research on treatments, then companies had better give me my record! Finally, HHS has done something right for patients... although there's a whole lot more they need to do.

Maybe the solution is a conservative military dictatorship. You know, the kind that the people of Egypt and Tunisia just overthrew.

Obama had nothing to do with Egypt's uprising and there's almost nothing our government can do about it. Your speculations about his behind the scenes role are the ravings of an ignorant conspiracy theorist. When the "truth" comes out about this, absolutely nothing will indicate that Obama played a key role in the revolutions of Tunisia and Egypt. But you won't notice because you'll be on to your next wild fantasy.

Gee, I guess maybe we're not pro-democracy after all. Even though we've spent decades touting the virtues of democracy around the globe, and even though we justified the wars in Iraq and Vietnam in part on the grounds that we were bringing democracy to the regions. Yet, when the Palestinians elect Hamas or Egypt hints it may elect an Islamic government, suddenly the American people don't seem to support democracy anymore. Democracy, it seems, is acceptable only when it serves American interests.

Big Government : Did Muslim Brotherhood Learn 'Day of Rage' Egypt Protest Tactics From Obama Allies Bill Ayers and Co

To answer the question posed in the headline to this article: No. That's freakin stupid. What a western-centric view of the world. Not to mention several decades behind the times, this being the era of social networking. Fact is, America has been supporting dictators with tax dollars for decades, and the people under those dictators are rightly calling for freedom. America and its western allies are freaked out by the ensuing riots because they've been paying homage to the dictators, not the people. And now we reap the whirlwind...

What the hell are you talking about? The judge has absolutely no grounds to let the killer off just because the victim's brother made a failed attempt to attack him in court. You've got no freakin clue about how the court system works. You're just using this rather heart-wrenching spectacle as an excuse to spew your hatred at the imaginary crimes of people who have different politics than you do. Your comment is irrelevant and ignorant.

Well... keep in mind that this was just a hearing. That's a far cry from passing legislation into law, which is what happened with Patriot... And Patriot was quite a bit more severe than the data retention proposal they are discussing in the hearing. But, like you, I certainly hope people make a ruckus about data retention if it looks like it's going to get enacted into law.

Breitbart.com : Mexico to pioneer iris technology on ID cards

I see a lot of jokes about the iris scanners being made in Mexico. The company that makes them is Global Rainmakers, part of Hoyos. They were founded in Puerto Rico and have offices in New York City and Washington, DC. It should surprise no one that the United States (and its territories) - the largest arms exporter in the world - is the source of these devices. Although they may well actually be manufactured in China...

Why do so many conservative media pundits worship law enforcement when it is law enforcement that will do this to U.S citizens one day? Think it'll never happen? Most people didn't see airport body scans coming either. We need to seriously rethink how much freedom this country is willing to give up for 'safety' and convenience.

The ACLU lobbies against domestic surveillance constantly, for Muslims and Christians, left and right wing alike. Why don't you step outside your comfort zone and go to their website and find out for yourself, instead of babbling to people who already agree with you on blogs like this one?

Um... I seem to recall it was the right wing that shrieked loudest about the war on terror and the need to increase domestic surveillance. Warrantless wiretapping, anyone? Obama is just continuing what Bush did for seven years. And Biden didn't write the Patriot Act, you nutjob. He wrote an earlier version of the bill, but the final version that is now in the law goes so much further that it amounts to a new bill. Sensenbrenner had a much bigger hand in the final version of the PATRIOT Act than Biden. Do your homework.

The civil war of your dreams will fail miserably. You are outgunned by law enforcement and military. Most importantly, the vast majority of the American public does not want violence and will not support you. And even if you win, you will only be clearing the path for a government that is much, much worse. There are no modern day Founding Fathers. Most revolutions end in dictatorship. And if you think this is already a dictatorship, just ask someone who's lived in a actual dictatorship if we are the equivalent and they will mock you, as they should.

Terrorists typically justify their violence with moral arguments, just like the one you're making here. Many political issues, like abortion or even foreign policy, are moral issues at their core. So your distinction makes no difference.
