Believe, don't allow doubt to creep in, and work your buns off to make it happen. That's my focus right now. I've written more letters to politicians in the last 8 months than I've ever written in my 47 years on this earth. I'm a recovering cynic. We cannot allow fear and doubt to dissuade us now. Keep the faith, people, and do everything you can. And then stand back and watch the power of belief move the mountain. Happy Easter, Passover, etc.
We're starting a book club. A lot of people at church and in my community agree with these principles, but they're just nice people that just live their lives. They're not by nature protesters, fighters, etc. I'm hoping that our book club will help awaken the truth and enliven their souls to start believing in fighting like our founding fathers did. I find myself having to believe deeply in the possibilities of doing this because otherwise I get discouraged. They (Pres. Obama and company) are systematically undermining morality in our country (some of them may truly believe they are trying to be moral--I understand that. It is unfortunately a mistaken priority!!) It is incredible and totally unbelieveable. I believe in God, and I believe in truth. He will win out in the end, and we hopefully will learn lessons of when to stand up and be counted. Prayer works. Believe in a miracle/miracles because we definitely need some.
I agree - the unions in many way have made artificial helps that give power-corruptible people the chance to usurp power and manipulate workers for their own ends. Seems like union leaders are like carpetbaggers a lot -- they don't necessarily care about the workers, they care about the power. Too much intervention ends up making too many power brokers. I don't know how we get to some sane management of our working lives, but people being pressured into unions is NOT what we need. Down with card check.
I figured it out for myself yesterday. They're trying to package this as a business-like approach to fixing the problem. Of course businesses need to borrow money as an investment in their future. Problem? Yes, because government is NOT a profitable entity. When has government turned a profit, or even been oriented toward such? Borrowing as an investment only works if you're motivated and oriented to turning things around and TRULY MAKING MONEY. Government is oriented toward SPENDING EVERY LAST DIME. He's so smooth, he makes me sick, because I know people are falling for this slick-sounding ploy. Help...
