Sports Then and Now : Smith, Rice Top List of Football Hall of Fame Finalists

Dean, just sent you an email with who'd I'd like to see in here... I was one of the guys involved in the Baseball HOF email chain we had going last week... but in a nutshell... aside from Smith and Rice who absolutely have to get voted in... there are 5 guys on this list that should be joining them. How the voters have not sent these guys in is beyond me: Andre Reed- best WR on one of the dynasty's of the 90's Shannon Sharpe- best TE ever, revolutionized the position Russ Grimm- not just A Hog.... THE Hog Charles Haley- if Super Bowl rings count, he's got more rings than anyone in history Richard Dent- best defensive player on the best defensive unit E-V-E-R For the record I think Tim Brown should also be a 1st timer with Rice and Smith.

Sports Then and Now : What Could Have Been? The Story of the 1994 Montreal Expos

As a life-long Yankee fan... and as someone who went to a few Expo games (growing up 3 hours from Montreal)... just thinking about 1994 still ticks me off. I thought for sure it would be Yanks/Expos and I might get a crack at seeing a WS game live and in person. If the team ever built that downtown stadium, who knows... maybe the team would still be there, but I think the stadium was the key, Olympic Stadium was a dumpster fire. Either way, MLB continues to screw up its own sport. No minimum salary cap, World Series games that haven't seen sunlight in 20 years, over-expansion, turning a blind eye to steroids till it was too late... add it all up and you've got your answer.

Sports Then and Now : The Immature and Infantile Ways of Brandon Marshall

Can't agree more. I went to UCF and watched this guy blossom out of nowhere. Then right as he becomes one of the hottest WR's in the NFL he overdoses on stupid pills. I'm looking at your article, looking at the pic of him in a Knights uniform and cringing. We've had so many players represent UCF well in the NFL, it's a shame this bozo is giving the Broncos, the Knights and football players in general a black eye.

Sports Then and Now : Women's Tennis: Hear Them Roar

Personally I think you could end this argument once and for all (and make tennis itself more enjoyable to watch)... if you just allowed crowd noise at matches. I remember watching Davis Cup matches from the early 90s... US vs Russia (I think) and how the crowd was allowed to cheer during the points... gave it a real World Cup feel, and it seemed to energize the players. Makes for better TV too.
