I don't know the particulars of this fight. I really don't care. What I do know is that Renee is opinionated, articulate, passionate, and sometimes screws up. I also know she is a voice that is desperately needed. I know that she has a good heart, a brave heart, and is far more "reasonable" than most in blogland.

Did she misspeak? I don't know. Doesn't really matter. IF she did, well, let she who has never found her foot in her mouth cast the first stone. If she did not, well...I really can't tell those who are attacking her to fuck off. First, I don't know if there were attacks. Second, it's not my fight. Third...what the hell, fuck off.

It was almost 20 years ago that I attended a retreat dealing with ethics from the perspective of persons of color. She was awesome even then. I think it was 1990? 1991?

Wouldn't be nice if we had 12 Black History months? Every year?

I have a dream......

Oh she's not dead. She's not going anywhere. And that's a damned good thing, too. What would we do without strong Black women? Strong Latina women? Strong Native women? Strong Asian women? And yes, strong White women?

What would we do? I don't want to find out.
