Sorry Wes, they are not looking for improvement, they are looking for someone to blame. I live in St. Petersburg, FL and our branch of the Uhurus has tried to stir public sympathy for several dead scumbags. The odd thing is that they never complain about the dead white scumbags. I live in the same area as many of the "downtrodden" and that claim is absolutely without merit. We have had riots due to some of these "uprisings" wherein the community burns. That being said, never doubt the responsive power of the lawfully armed, sleeping giant that is the framework of our society.
Elliott, many of us have raised families, worked their way up from nothing (some of us have done it more than once), and seen the benefits to our lives by following the basics tenets of this group. My wife and I both work and would be considered just about dead center middle class. I have three kids in college, so I understand how that segment of society thinks. Most of them, however, are idealists whose life experience is garnered from educators. If I had to choose a group of people to place my lot with, it would be those who have learned through experience, not lecture. The problem with socialism, in my opinion, is that less is expected of the individual and, naturally, the individual becomes less responsible for himself. We all know that freedom without responsibility always fails. Young people with a first taste of freedom often have problems because they are not responsible with it. If everyone acted responsibly, how many freedom-eroding laws would not exist?
Please explain to me why you should be responsible for my wellbeing or why the government should be entrusted with my wellbeing. You are looking for a guarantee of equal results. How is that freedom?
