Bravo California! And Bravo to Star Parker who recently ran for that area's congressional seat and has been an outspoken champion for educational (parental) choice for years.
In my humble opinion, I'll bet she had much to do with making parents aware of their options and encouraging them to act.

Wow! The power of the internet and an "amateur" filmmaker combined.
The jig is up, creativity in pursuit of the truth.
Message to little Hollywood: your days are numbered.

Prof. Gates is Chair of the W.E.B. Du Bois Department of African & AA Studies. That should tell you a lot about where Gates was coming from.
DuBois railed against segregation (and Booker T. Washington) from his secure perch in New York city as editor of the NAACP's magazine "Crisis." A Socialist, he finally declared he was a Communist, renounced his citizenship in the US and exiled himself to Ghana, where he died in 1965.
"Skippy" Gates, for all his erudite posturing, is in denial that he brought this on, and he, not Sgt. Crowley is a racist of the worse sort: one with no ax to grind, but who chooses to feel victimized anyway.

Well, finally, people within the black community are picking up on Booker T. Washington's message of "self-help."
For way too long, they have been misled to believe that simply being resentful and angry at "whitey" was a justifiable response for not obtaining all the rights and privileges and courtesies they deemed appropriate, regardless of effort, attitude or qualifications.
This movement inevitably leads people to accept their own responsibility for advancement and is to be applauded - and I'm white.
The school bus embargo (see Rosa Parks & MLK jr) was grounded as much in the philosophy of Booker T. as Gandhi, but militant blacks preferred WEB DuBois' personna and philosophy of resentment and anger as the historical figure to be emulated.
The time to recognize the wisdom and vision of Booker T and to "diss" WEB DuBois is long overdue.
