Trivia: My parents were members of the first white band signed by Motown.

And my father loves Obama so much that he's been searching for a family connection since the election. Apparently there's a "Dunham" in our family tree, and my father is desperate to believe there's a relation to Obama's mother, Ann Dunham.

Has there ever been a movie or TV show set in the White House featuring a Republican president (as the good guy)? Maybe in the 40's or 50's?

At least Alan Alda's Republican presidential candidate in the "West Wing" wasn't entirely evil.

I didn't think Crash was all that bad; though I don't remember it all that well. While one of the more reluctant gangbangers was in fact, honorable, his friend definitely was not. He basically justified the racist feelings in whites by acting like the violent thug that he imagines they'd assume him to be; in effect, living the image of the stereotype. I saw that character as a huge hypocrite: assaulting and committing crimes against whites while complaining that whites are afraid of him.

That's not the slightest bit funny. It wouldn't be funny in the other direction, either. If a Conservative comedian like Greg Gutfield (just for instance) did similar things to a Lefty woman like Hillary Clinton or Nancy Pelosi - it would still be unfunny and offensive. I used to love Beavis and Butthead when I was younger; maybe this is aimed at the same demographic?
