Yes, you are right. Just look at what the Palestinians did in Gaza when the Israeli's turned it over to them, leaving a complete economic infrastructure in place (and modes of wealth generation, such as the advanced system of greenhouses). What did they do? They ransacked everything, and set up mortars in their place. While our minds cannot comprehend it, because it is so counter-intuitive and self destructive, there are actually people in the world that would rather wallow in misery and poverty as long as they can strike out at infidels and try to kill as many as possible.

Want to know how to make peace? Shoot a terrorist who is about to blow up hundreds of people BEFORE he gets to blow them up. Wipe out a dictator and his few thousand henchmen BEFORE they launch a nuclear missile and kill hundreds of thousands of innocent people. That is how you have peace. Fail to stop evil when you have the chance, and you are a partially responsible for the loss of innocent lives that result.

I think part of the problem is that starting a couple of generations ago, and accelerating to this day, our nation's schools have been discouraging critical thinking and to the contrary, have been indoctrinating students. This makes it hard to question "the experts" even when what they espouse does not make sense. Hopefully, as things become so blatantly absurd and contrary to common sense, critical thinking will come out of its dormancy, much to the betterment of our country.
