Oh this is fantastic!!!!! Go Wisconsin!!
Thanks for sharing your story. Dreamies are free to portray whatever image they want to - this is not zone for 'policing' individuality and trying to pretend that we are better than the average American teenager. Some of us might be, most are not. We live in a culture that loves to make fun of those deemed 'over-weight'; however, inappropriate that might be, the responses show acculturation.
Don't know about this particular event but we will certainly have footage from June 23
It doesn\'t look like it Flobus but I am sure we\'ll find someone. Hope to see you in the Web 2.0 program!
I am hoping that the PROUD Act is a way that anti-military dissenters of the DREAM Act and legal immigrant kids can stop attacking the shortcomings of the DREAM Act and advocate for their own bill. It would make the most sense moving forward.
Haha, Hans, type up your account of what your REALLY felt. This site will never censor the true feelings of migrant youth advocates. That's precisely why and how we exist.
I don't think you read or can comprehend what was posted. We are for UAFA.
I think it supports the claim that the more our loved ones and friends know about our experiences, the more people realize what it is like to be undocumented, the more empathy and support for the cause we will gain. So it's important to share our stories and be 'out.'
There's also people that have been WORKING on this for 8 years; chill out a bit--this is not just about you. The struggle for civil rights was not won in a day; it took years, decades, and even to this day, we are still fighting for equality of opportunity. Use some historical perspective and try to help out instead of sitting on the sidelines uselessly and complaining about things. The DREAM Act is not going to pass unless everyone wakes up and stops pitying themselves or feeling complacent about their lives. What are you doing to ensure that this passes in 2009?
