Well, I cannot say with 100% certainty that information could not be compromised, misused or lost regardless if we are talking about the federal government or a private business. In this day and age of rampant identity theft that possiblity is greater compared to a decade ago.

Short of living in a cabin forever and never coming out to fill out a job application, attend a school or request a bank account, I do not think any organization can guarantee absolute information control.

God Bless West Michigan as it has been my home for 20 years. I never leave it as everything I need is here and the rest of the world must be just like this place. Some day I hope we can meet in a common trailer park and compare notes. As I read from the same Bible I used to beat my wife and kids I have now considered renaming my dog "Liberal" so I won't feel so bad beating him too. Liberals need to be beaten or at least blaimed. I find placing blaim on a nameless, faceless group will solve everything so I can be absolved from responsibility. I do not need ideas, I just need to say no to anything, but expect everything to still workout in my favor. When it doesn't, just blaim someone. God Bless You and America.

Having worked the 2000 census in west michigan the people in charge were actually effective in maintaining tight information control, managing the many people hired and getting the job done with professionalism and great attention to detail. There was no tolerance for error, mishandling private information, absenteeism or campaigning for anything.

The Census which dates back to the founding of our republic, exists outside of the partisan politics of the day. Having said that I would never work it again as working with the general public, which has no idea of common courtesy or their constitutional requirements to participate, is not for me.

It's safe to say no one who posted here used their uterus to shoot out 8 kids while brow beating their doofus husband on television. Then while her marriage is falling apart start crossing the country promote herself as victim/guru on the virtues of her self-centered existance.

You have to be kidding me. A proposal at this time is simply a stall tactic and not a good one. The problem grows daily and this time Obama-Money will not fall from the sky to save diddly.

Why waste the time and blowing the money on a bad ballot proposal and simply step up to the plate and start doing the cuts needed?

I do not believe the electorate can tolerate any more shrinking pay checks now. The mood is to cut services, so cut them and start with the fattiest pork first... NOT the firemen. If and when the electorate starts to feel the pain then consider an increase.

I trully doubt city government is motivated to find so-called efficiencies if it can just tax its way out of a problem.
