You don't use Absinthe for the iPhone4, it is an A4 based phone. Use the latest version of Redsn0w to jailbreak your iPhone 4.

I'd try a restore to stock 4.3.1 and give redsn0w another shot, if you're using it on windows make sure you're in compatibility mode and running as an administrator.

Yes, if you use redsn0w it will hacktivate your phone and allow you to get past the screen.

Please don't try to use a Beta Operating System for your jailbreaking needs.

It's the first line in bold on this blog entry.

"WARNING WARNING — ultrasn0w users don’t update yet! See a few paragraphs down!"

Ultrasn0w doesn't work on 4.3.1 yet.

Anyone have a link to the Greenpois0n_rc5_3 changelog?

Restore again, set up as new phone, don't restore from backup.

If you're using an official carrier (regardless of if you want your phone unlocked or not) then do not hacktivate the phone, this means answer YES to the official carrier question, or uncheck "Activate phone" in expert mode.

Yes this will work with new bootrom 3GS models. The only reason older releases didn't work with spirit JB'd phones was that spirit didn't exploit the bootrom at all. This JB uses a new bootrom exploit so you're in the clear, JB away!

It's been announced that the unlock won't come out until after 4.2, so stop acting entitled and be patient. Pwnagetool allows you to keep your current unlock on 4.1 (whereas before only iPhone 4 users and old bootrom 3GS's could), so it's pretty important.
