They've stopped producing this unit.

Unfortunately, there is no real way to say what unit is the best, it really depends on your situation. For instance, trucks with large custom sleepers typically need a unit with a dedicated generator for the high power demands of rooftop A/C, stoves, microwaves, etc. Since the Tripac only has an alternator/inverter, it would rate VERY low in that situation.

Reply to this comment with the specifics of your situation, and maybe I will have some better suggestions.

Thanks,
Chris

Depends on how hard you work, I suppose.

In December there were 75/195 trucks above $16k gross. Of those, 19 were company trucks.

Hey Ken, sorry it took me so long...got a bit more info from Heather Hildebrandt;

Chris,

I just wanted to make you aware that there is an updated application up on the website. In brief, we have extended the rebate to all model years of trucks and to any resident of North Carolina (if not registered in NC, they need proof of residency). Also, all applicants will need to fill out a W-9. I was unaware of this last requirement until I submitted the first applications for reimbursement.

All updated forms are now available on the rebate website that can be accessed at <a href="http://www.daq.state.nc.us/motor/Rebates/" target="_blank">http://www.daq.state.nc.us/motor/Rebates/

Thanks Heather, we appreciate the update!

Looks pretty good. Pretty much like we thought it would be. The income per day difference also looks like it's more than enough to pay for your trailer, it's insurance, cargo insurance, and whatever other extra expenses you incur by being at LH.

Renting this trailer is really kicking my ass. I've taken 2 full weeks off in the last 2 months and the thought that I just got no benefit or equity from the $750 it cost really burns. Hope it is evident quickly whether the cars are going to work out so I can figure out what to buy...

I'm looking at heading out tomorrow, too. I also have to stop by the TWIC office and pick up my card.

Ha! How true.

So with their trailer and your truck you would be at 75%, correct? So to the truck your linehaul rate would be $.95/mi.

That sounds like it sucks until you factor in fsc. Didn't you say that you though it was at 25%? Is that on all loads or just ones where fsc is paid by the broker/customer? If it's on all loads that would bring you up to $1.19/mi. That is a bit less than where I am, but you wouldn't have a silly trailer rental fee or cargo insurance to pay for.

Oops, I suppose that information would have been good to put in the original post, huh? I'll fix it...

APU's are eligible for up to $2500.

As of October 1st, there was $417,500 remaining for APUs and $100,000 for new tractors.

DEVICES MUST BE PURCHASED AND INSTALLED IN NC!

Anyone know any more info on these? They sound like something I could use.
