Cambridge is academically good not so much because the teaching method is brilliant in itself but because the selection process means only fairly bright students get in, and because the teachers are, by and large, exceptionally clever people attracted by historical prestige.

You can give as many one-to-one supervisions as you like, Dawkins, but unless you can match the calibre of intake and teaching, you'll still be a second-rate Oxbridge.

I think this is an interesting comment to make considering their historical connection with the House of Hannover and that they only changed their name from Saxe-Coburg Gotha in 1917. The royal family is probably one of the most thing Germanic things in the UK.
