It would be difficult, at best, to poll accurately in a country such as Afghanistan. We assume all the time that time-honoured processes such as polls which work well here will also work well in a country that has such a short history of democratic freedom. Also, if I were an Afghan, I would also want NATO out of my country, eventually. While they are there, however, I would thank them for their help in rebuilding. My brother served a tour in Kandahar last year, and the people seem to appreciate the contributions of Canadian soldiers, but the Afghans wish to build their own sovereignty and we need to encourage this.
