My wish is for a viable third party. Not just a candidate but a party. I know there are those who argue that a third party simply weakens support for the leading candidate - and history has shown that this can happen. However, both the Democratic and Republican parties have failed us over and over again. Until we decide that supporting a third party that stands for what we believe in isn't "wasting a vote", we'll be stuck with the same old, same old every election. Too much bickering and sniping at each other and not enough working to do the people's will.
Now that Capt. Phillips is free, time to take some long overdue action against the pirates. I think we need some payback for Mogadishu, anyway. Anyone remember the scene in Apocalypse Now? "I love the smell of napalm in the morning. Smells like ... victory."
Fantastic news of the rescue! Way to go Navy!!
This reminds me so much of the Carter administration's response to the Iranian embassy hostage crisis. The next thing you know, we'll have a nightly show - "America Held Hostage - Day ???". I certainly hope not, but the lack of response from the White House is troubling.
