Congrats to Wales but it seemed like a typical Irish Performance..."Aaahhh didnt we do well to get this far, lets stop playing and look forward to a parade". I sure wish Irish sport teams would realize they have a right to something more. Its ok to be selfish and want to win a tournament.
Fingers crossed for this update. If the software actually opens up on my Focus, its an improvement. I think that messenger app was the worst app I have used so far on WP7.
I'll put money on it that Nokia will have a phone ready to go when the WP7 "Mango" update is released Q3/early Q4 2011.
I still don't understand why Microsoft doesn't put this OS on a tablet. They must have something bigger in mind with Win 8 is all I can guess.
All in all some very exciting news for WP7 fans. WP7 is maturing exactly the way I hoped when I made the plunge to get a WP7 phone. I do wish the updates would arrive a little sooner. Anyhow, Microsoft will end 2011 having pulled technically level (and ahead on some fronts) with Android and iOS. Smart move Nokia.
Edwards hatred for Microsoft is second only to his hate for Nokia. I'm not sure what the point in asking Edward to write an article on this topic is...I mean its like asking Kim Jong IL to write an article on the US...there was only one inevitable conclusion.
We'll find out more next week at MWC . My only hope is that Microsoft were preparing two updates and decided that the second update was so close to being ready that they delayed the first one so they could deploy both together as one larger update. I'm a dreamer I guess.
Regardless of who set the expectation, Microsoft are going to take some hits in the tech press on this one.
My WP7 phone is a Samsung Focus and I really like it but that phone is just an extension of Samsung Galaxy line which was lanuched in June 2010. Even at that the Samsung Focus had the weaker snapdragon processor and not hummingbird that the other Galaxy phones have. The Dell Venue Pro was unique but Dell hasn't delivered on it yet. A phone with a slide-out speaker...say no more. HD7 is basically the HD2 a year later with a different label on it.
Which WP7 phone made you go wow? and why?
I agree there is a little bit of sensationalism in the title there. I think the blog is suffering from a side-effect of buying the msmobiles.com domain.
I own a WP7 phone but the sales are relatively disappointing so far. I can't imagine its inline with Microsoft's expectations. Good point on no CDMA. In the US we have the full zune and bing experience so sales don’t seem to be affected either way by it but I can imagine it being a deterrent in other countries.
