The source of the data, as reported by CU's professor Pielke, is the State of Virginia and IRS documents posted by Guide Star. You could verify these yourself if so inclined or open.

I myself am riding the global warming bull, and I hope to stay on until it dies, but I wish I could be so greedy.

El Ninos occur every couple or few years and have been doing so for thousands of years. The last strong El Nino was 1997-1998. When they end, global cooling frequently follows.

Orange colored "rust" from mines, as well as springs and other seeps is typically ferrihydrite, one of many iron oxides. Things unseen are often more hazardous. Testing for heavy metals would be prudent.
