Oh good, no more of that irritating buzzing noise.

As to being ordinary, yes, I suppose it must be pretty tame, compared with the glamor and prestige of being a gullible twit who believes that everything she hears on Fox 'News' is true, and acts accordingly.

Apparently you can't tell that I'm signed up. Of course, all the indications are there, but hey - they could be forgeries. Or secret messages from Mars. Or a vast conspiracy. But don't worry, your tinfoil hat will make everything clear to you.

And please, save your "respect" for someone (anyone?) who might mistake it for something worthwhile.

The perfect summation! "Duh! I was mocking you, or him, or whomever."

Don't let the Duh hit you on the way out.

Were you as DISrespectful of President Bush?

When has Mrs. Obama ever given any indication of latent "whitey meltdown" tendencies? Do you yourself have "Jew meltdowns" or "Asian meltdowns" or "Catholic meltdowns"? Just askin'.

Now let's see, the Bush administration decided that torture was okay as AMERICAN policy, that Iraq was "Mission Accomplished" in 2003, that deregulation and wild speculation were okay so long as their cronies got rich, and that any of their misdeeds that were even close to being investigated were suddenly "matters of national security." He didn't include the cost of the Iraq war in the budget, rather disguising it as a big "special appropriation" every year. He was all in favor of secret prisons, and of sending prisoners of war to countries where it was KNOWN they'd be tortured, often to death. "Bills of insanity," anyone? I'd say that's rather a far cry from telling kids to stay in school and work hard, and it certainly is a record of judgement that deserves some heavy scrutiny.

Obviously, "education and literacy" is out, as per the present, um, discussion. Though it would be fun to see some of the hysterics' take on any "mental health" initiative she might advocate ("I don't need the first lady to tell ME to be sane, the government should stay out of sanity!"). Family issues? Please. Just imagine. There isn't one thing on your list that wouldn't be attacked, pilloried, and decried to the heavens if either Obama said anything in favor of it.

"Sat where you sit" doesn't mean in the same chairs, the same buildings, or even the same educational system. It means that students were students 250 years ago, just like they are now, with their entire futures ahead of them and lessons to be learned. And some of them went on to be founding fathers and great contributors to the nation, and others sat on their butts and whined and found fault with everything the achievers did. Things haven't changed much, have they?

When there's such an outpouring of outrage over "stay in school, work hard, be nice", can you imagine what would happen if we had "students learning how government is SUPPOSED to work"? You'd hear the shrieks of "Government isn't supposed to do ANYTHING except pay my welfare check and Mom's Medicare and Dad's VA insurance and pave the highways within a mile of my house" from three continents away.
