Well, said. Face it this current regime' will not attack Iran, and now showing Russia our nukes, well America is being sold out. Frankly, I'd like to wait till the Hauge Pauge when all the Muslims are in one place walking around the big black rock or whatever it is, and have Isreal hit them. After allp ay back is a mother.....the Arabs attacked Isreal on their holiest day, Yom Kipper.

I agree thatthere are some Flag officers that may play politics, but again as with any military, it is the nature of the business, hell it went on during the revolution, there was a general that did all he could to play politics against George Washington. There were politics during WW 2 in the Flagranks, but in all cases, we made it through. As far as our young men and women " being put on the street" with loaded weapons, I will count on their training, and most of all, they are Americans, most brought up to believe in the American way of life and you have to count on them doing the right thing. But, like every outfit, there will be the 1% that won't get with the program, but they will have been weeded out.

The nature of war is fear. There isn't a single member of the Armed Forces that goes into combat, that aren't scared. If they're not, then they are fools. My first trip to Vietnam was with the Air Force Reserve, a simple supply run. No time in country, land, unload, pickup and take off. The pilots had served in Korea, and as we were on approach, they asked me if I was scared, I said yes, and they said, good. Later after joining the Corps and we went into Vietnam, I was still in aviation, and was told, if you aren't scared, your nuts. We came under attack, within a couple of days of being there, YES, I was scared, but in a microsecond, my training kicked in. As far as these "scared" kids, They are not kids, plus our Guard is better trained then back in the 60's and 70's, and if BH0 tried to put them on the streets, I would have to believe that alot of governors would say no. As far as putting the regulars, I would count on the Officers and NCO's to live up to there oath..."To defend and protect the CONSTITUTION...." then there is no worry.

The problem with this scenerio is that it could almost never happen. Americans have always, rebound, and even in the case of severe oil shortage, the people will find a way. NEVER underestimate the American people.

America is NOT too chicken to attack, our current regime is, please separate the 2, BH0 is not America. America is the fine hard working citizens and the fine men and women wearing he uniform of our armed forces. IF there was an attack on Iran, our Navy could/would ensure that the straits remain open. Our ecomy would not come to a stand still, slow down yes, stand still. NO! As far as martial law, that would be left to the governors of the states, for it would be the Nat'l Guard theat would take over those duties, and the Guard falls under the state governors. Americans have been thru mainly things, Pearl Harbor, gas shortage (a number of times) and 9-11 to name a few, and whether you realize it or not, WE came back. Now, if you don't have faith in the people of this country, which is what makes America, America, I can suggest a few other places you are free to go and live.

The Nat'l Guard was under state control, They were inexperienced, not like our Guard today, and this inexperience led to panic. Unfortunately it was accident. This is a bad example to use. Our military is well trained and discipline, they will not fire on another American unless they are fired on first, plain and simple.

Frankly, I can not see that anyone here on 912 is as you said "BRAINWASHED". I would venture to say that many of us have actually studied the past. Now is this a simple enough answer for you. Now, my simple question, Just what the hell are you talking about?

The U.S. Military can not be activated on American soil, except to maintain security of Federal property and Military bases, and in that case, they will coordinate with local law enforcement. The only military that could be utilized is the Nat'l Guard, and that is strickly under the controll of the governors. The President can not Federalize them without governors permission, and if that happens, again they can be used only for Federal property. This crap being spread around the web about our military being used against the American people is as bogus as the cash reward from Microsoft for using IE. The military is sworn to uphold the CONSTITUTION, not the president.
