We have a lot more work to do, but for a moment, let's celebrate the victory of the internet media (and Glenn Beck/Fox News) over the MSM, it was the pressure from these sources; not the state-owned media that brought this chump down. That is a HUGE signal to the fourth estate and our corrupt leaders in Washington. Next up...the FCC diversity dude...oops I mean CZAR...
I totally agree with you. I haven't been reading much of these posts so my suggestion may have already been put forth. Why can't we set up some way for people to donate money online to these groups in a centralized manner. Similar to ACORN or Obama's campaign donation site, allow people to give money to support the growth of these local groups who will make a difference, make it easy and secure. One donation site, many supported groups. Of course, there are probably legal and tax issues that would make this difficult, but for these local groups to grow they will need money. Our local site discusses donations but does not provide any information on how to give other than the email addresses of the representative members.
I think insurance is one of the problems that we have. They are an overpaid middleman. Government intervention is another reason, medicare and medicaid drive costs as well. Lawsuits also increase costs. If healthcare were just like any other commodity subject to the law of supply and demand, prices would go to the place where everyone could afford some level of care. Everyone carry some type of catastrophic coverage, protect the indigent with basic coverage, and let the folks who don't want to pay get the crappy care they deserve.
You are totally right. It will be interesting to see Obama and Congress passing this football back and forth for the next few years. Nothing will "change" and the sheeple will forget....they will be on to the next circus, whatever it may be.
I owned a FIAT when I was in college, real POS. My dad gave it to me so he could buy a real car, a used Cadillac. We put 9 fuel pumps on that car. Had to have engine rebuilt in spite of regular maintenance, the timing belt snapped and all the valves bent (wonderful engineering). Now that I'm old, I can confess that I own my third Subaru and they last forever.... first Subaru, 10 years, second, 12 (still on the road to my knowledge), my plan is to "donate" this third one to my 9 year old daughter when she starts to drive.... wouldn't pass on a FIAT to my worst enemy.....
Maybe the tea parties encouraged Spector to do this. I hope all RINO's see him and make the switch. Who cares about the 60-vote majority, if a member of Congress votes against their party all the time they must move on....If we want to salvage the Republican party we need to encourage this with every member of Congress who votes against the people they represent. When we vote, we should be voting for the person who will represent us, not someone who is in a party just to have a job and lifetime benefits. We must continue to make it clear to these guys that we are watching AND voting. That is the "transparency" we must demand.
I am just a "dumb ole okie" but even my intelligence tells me that these people are unqualified to run our country. Anyone with half a brain would have known that this photo-op project needed to be communicated to the people (oh, yes, those of us who are working and paying taxes for this stuff). Although with unemployment nearing 9%, I'm not sure if the photo-op idea was that good to start with. "Let them eat cake" is the motto of this administration. Just a bunch of kids in charge of the zoo for a day. The good news is, the people will wake up to this, too many of these supreme errors in judgement will make this guy (and his ilk) a one-term wonder. Yes, we will all wonder...How did we vote for this guy? Oh wait, I didn't vote for him, but against him. No more LOTES. We the PEOPLE will get this back in 2010 and 2012, but need to make sure the right people are replacing these losers. Stay awake and aware. Return to the Republic.....
Thank you for starting this group. We are a simple family of three, one dad, one mom and a beautiful daughter who just want to live a peaceful life, but I see the storm breaking out on both coasts heading our way. Have just finished reading 5000-Year Leap and understand where we went wrong and where we need to be. I will go to my local tea party and would be willing to go to DC when the time comes. How about a visit on 9-12-09? That is a Saturday so a lot of working people could go. God Bless America.
