Wow!! As someone who also chose not to have a family, I am very surprised at the vehemence of some of these comments. I have known from a very young age that I did not want children. My mother told me that I was "selfish" because I didn't want children. I asked her isn't it worse to bring children into the world that are not wanted? This unfortunately happens too much already. I love kids, but they weren't for me and the life I want to lead. To each their own.
